Just a quick question to all the Canadian folks out there, has this site helped you in any way, with your music, meeting other players, forming bands..etc.
Don't take this as I am trashing the site I'm not, Just want to know what people are getting from it and what they may be looking for in improvments.
Thanks

Not really...

This site is a little complicated. Being in Calgary, Alberta I like a smaller site... like
http://www.livelocals.net

ok ... not yet but I do like the site ; however, when I when I click on upgrade to premium, I don't any notice as to the cost for an upgrade. I just get a form to fill out my credit card info.
I don't think so Tim !!! How much is a "Premium Membership"?

Not really... Classifieds/web profiles are tough. If you guys need a studio to record at, check out www.plazmasound.com (If you actually go there and look at it, then I guess the site does work!)

Me too Mirrordog...how come it's such a mystery, the cost of a Premium membership?
But I have already made contact with a musician who seems sypmatico and after only a day or two since joining, so I have to say it seems like a pretty cool sight..

Glad to see it has helped some, no luck for me so far.

I've had a couple of bites from BandMix so far.....nothing that panned out but hey it's something. Then again, the musicians I'm looking for are extremely hard to find. If I were looking to fill out a more traditional rock/pop act, I'm sure I would have had more inquiries.

My beef is I see people I am interested in contacting, but I dont want to have to upgrade and pay money to just get some contact info. What I did on my profile is put my email in my About me section, so people can get it without having to upgrade. I think paying money for a site like this is ridiculous, and it actually almost makes it harder to find new members for your band.
They want money??!!

I agree Mark, if I knew that in order for mucisians to hook up through this site, they had to put out coin to be able to contact other mucisians I would have gone through an agency!!!! Just another marketing tool to make money off people who are traditionaly strapped for cash to begin with!

This site helped me meet people to jam with. I have been learning to play drums for about a year and I have been jamming once a week with them for about 7 months now after answering a bandmix ad needing a drummer.

I have a hard time believing they can really charge to connect musicians together, but that's cool if they can get away with it. I'm a little annoyed I couldn't message someone when I signed up, but hey, I can find musicians elsewhere. Living in Toronto has advantages that way.
If anyone wants to contact me though, feel free to. I definitely need some serious players soon,
