Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums and hail from Speed City, London Ontario

As the rest of you I love music; albeit from afar at times because of school and real life. I'm self taught and write/play for the joy of it.

A couple buddies and I recorded some rough demos of my material a year or so back and now that school is done I wanna dedicate some more time to this. I've pretty much given up finding people in my area to jam and carry this further so I'm wondering if there's anyone who'd like to e-jam and hone ideas?

Alternatively I'm all ears to comments and crits to help me get better :)

Cheers!

Just my opinion.
But if you give up on being a band... your fluked musically.
You've got good ideas that need to be well executed.
And it does not have to happen overnight.

Hey ... life ...
As a father of four with two teen sons still in my home, grand children, aged extended family on both sides of the gene pool, a full time job being and RN, my wife's full time job being an RN, our own business on the side, ETC ETC and the band ...

NEVER GIVE UP ... NEVER SURRENDER

Thanks for the encouraging words, I kinda get what you mean about flunking out musically, it's just overly discouraging to find people who will not get off their high-horse and actually get down to sharpen ideas, trade riffs and write. Seems like everyone i come across is bent on learning covers note by note and/or with a vision up their ass; not willing to hear a second opinion influence or approach (isn't that what a band is? a collaboration?) I know it can happen... I miss my university band...

No one I've jammed with really seems to be serious/committed enough about 'the music' to actually sit down and do homework on riffs and ideas, so needles to say nothing ever really gets anywhere. The internet has helped bands like Periphery and Blackguard come together so I'm giving this the 'dating-site' approach and see who's beyond my city limits who'd like to e-jam.

And holy hell man how do you manage to do all that? Props to you! :)

It's easy for me.

I'm blessed with an awesome band who are more like family than some of my family.

And I am psychotic ...

So, no shortage of energy.

Keep looking. If it was simple, anyone could do it.
