Learn from the masters. Go on Youtube and check out all you can from people like Freddie King, Roy Buchanan, Stevie Ray Vaughan, etc. Watch what they do and copy some of their signature licks. Practice as much as you can. Pick a Freddie King instrumental (Hideaway, Sidetracked, San-Ho-Zay, etc.) and learn it forwards and backwards. Every lick you learn will build your ability to play blues with anybody. It takes time to master the blues, there's no shortcut. There'll be hurdles ahead, you'll come to walls occasionally, keep playing and you'll bust through them. Jam sessions are good, but trying to get your own band together is better. Work up a repertoire of your favorite tunes and learn them in your sleep. When you can rip through a bunch of tunes you'll be ready and you will be in demand...
Keep trying different ways, different listings, postings. Spend the 10 bucks on bandmix and work on a good website.
I am having great results being ignored, not getting any answers one way or the other, I have checked so called music sights. I jam in a local bar.
I have got nothing for my efforts. Other musicians check out my sight.
What do yo do? Find something that works. Don't worry about finding the best, maybe one you can just work with is the right one.
If your having problems, try being a rock keyboard player trying to find a bass playing lead guitar and drummer who both sing. I have been looking a long time.
