Hi guys, im thinking of bringing in some samples on stage for our live show in a kind of kasabian kind of way. im not up on this stuff, but need a unit which i can DI to PA so i can literally play samples at my own will as and when i need them in the set.

any suggestions as to what i can use, on the cheap just to play a few samples here and there?

Hi Craig

I use the Roland MC808 groovebox (with sampler functionality). Most samplers - including those from Roland and Korg - have 1/4" jack outs on the back that go straight into the PA. It's just like plugging in a keyboard.

The MC808 is fairly pricey but I'm sure there are hundreds of cheaper alternatives. Try eBay.

Hope this helps, regards Jack
