TAKE IT AWAY allows individuals to apply for a loan of up to £2,000 for the purchase of any kind of musical instrument, and pay it back in nine monthly instalments, completely interest free.

Take it away is open to everyone (over the age of eighteen), but primarily designed to help those who might otherwise be unable to afford an instrument appropriate for their needs.

Hello from Mark in Sussex England,
I too am exceedingly unimpressed by a scheme to lure some poor innadequate into thinking he can buy his way into becoming a musician by being loaned and spending two grand on an instrument, when fifty to a hundred pounds spent well on Ebay will be fine to furnish any tallent they posses... do you need the equivalent of a Stradivarious to scrape out your first few chords?
the scheme (trying to be constructive) would do better to buy a selection of cheap but useable guitars, cellos, keyboards etc, and to start a weekly workshop for underprivilaged youngsters with a few volunteer tutors who would do it as a loss-leader for future trade.
