Hi all,
we're a small Western Swing/Hillbilly outfit performing covers (at the moment anyway) from Bob Wills, Tennessee Ernie, Spade Cooley and so on. For those who don't know, Western Swing is a mix of Hillbilly, pre-Bebop Jazz, country and Swing. Just google any of the artists listed and you'll get the idea.
Currently guitar, bass and drums, we need one or two fiddle players who understand the genre. If you have backing vocals, so much the better. If you double on piano, you're a hero!
We rehearse once a week or so near Welwyn, or in Willesden (NW London). We can be flexbile on that. All of us have played in bands on the '40s and '50s scene for years, so have great contacts. We'll be booking gigs from January - there are plenty of venues in London, so that won't be an issue.
