I Cant belive that there are so many timewasters on this site.
What i mean by that, is people who claim to be either looking to join a band, or are searching for a new band member for their own band.

In both cases, why do these people not bother answering responses they get to their ads. That's just plain rudeness & there's no excuse for it.

I have been looking for musicians to help reform my band. I cant remember how many people i have contacted on this website & I would say that about 1 in 10 have even bothered to reply....... even though the people i have contacted on paper at least seem to be ideally suited and at the very least should be mildly interested.

So what's it all about?

Maybe we should be able report people who cant be bothered to reply to messages, cos rudeness is not acceptable.

Rant over!!!!!!!
Am i the only one who is finding this???

they don't reply because they haven't paid for access. Easy way around this is to type your contact details in your profile

If a person's profile shows they haven't been active in over a week, chances are they are not checking here regularly for messages, either.

If you are able to send contacts to members AKA paid membership status.
The others you message do not have to be premier members to respond.

Just the F.A.Q. 's

I've found the average send / response ratio is about 20:1

The reason is two fold.
1) Anyone can pretend to be a musician and open a "profile page"
2) Disrespect

In both cases, you want nothing to do with them anyway.

Yep got to question whether worth paying the small amount for access if the members cant be bothered to reply

Just wish they would be truthfull in their profile when they say they are actively seeking. I reckon I'll have a better response from the free papers and sites which is a shame as this site laid out pretty well

This site is just another tool to use. Like any tool, if you don't use it correctly, it won't be much use. Post some music on your profile. Give full descriptions of who/what you are and what you are looking for. Put contact info (hide an email address in your words), so non-paying members and visitors can contact you.

I'm beginning to agree. I've paid for a month's membership in the hope of finding people, because I thought they weren't contacting me because of unpaid access. Some of it is rudeness. I'd love to get together if you're in my neck of the woods......

It took me the better part of six months.
I did eventually build our band here.
I checked profiles by geographic region ( zip code / post code ) and sent messages to anyone newly active over the previous 72 hours.
As mentioned above the send return ratio ran about 20:1 at that point in time.
That said, our core group has been together for better than seven years ( if memory serves ) and we continue to get gig opportunities from contact made via Bandmix.
I suppose one could disclaim "results not typical", but truth be told my persistence is not typical either.

Plenty of people sign up and think voila, ok someone is going to do what we want to do.

NOPE. You have to realize that every rotten spoiled child, every tired housefrau, tons of ex musicians, tons of wannabe musicians et cetera all load up onto this site.

Now maybe you find someone, maybe you don't but don't stop doing what you do. If you play out a little here and there, do it.

BUT don't expect this site to cure what ails you because you are just behaving like a delusional moron if you think just by paying, someone is going to search you out. LOL

Musicians are not born, they are made.

Go out and play. And if you never did and you don't, then maybe you were never meant to be a musician to begin with.

Open Mic to show what you've got? If anything? Otherwise stfu, the complaining is like kids at the amusement park.

No one cares if your tummy hurts, suck it up because if you aren't tough you won't last. And more than 3/4 of this stable of muckrakers will never get any farther than your pathetic attempts at creating a bmix page.

If someone doesn't write you back, go cry and move on to the next person. But don't complain about it, next you'll be crying because no one likes your music. lol (In person they actually do throw sh*t, so head down, chin up.)

No music on your profile is probably your biggest hindrance. These days people want to "pre-audition" you. There's a zillion others out there who want to be in a band and have no experience (and most times little talent).

I'm just flattered when I get a message, so respond to them all whether it's what I'm looking for or not. If anyone has contacted me, it means they like what they've heard and so it's just courtesy to thank them for taking the time to approach me.

Sadly I've found with some, that when I do respond and ask more questions, they disappear off the radar!

Sorry for this rant but I too have found this. Been on bandmix for a while. Have sent replies to some ads but not get a reply. Had to audition a guitar player from bandmix once it was horrendous. At audition didnt know very many songs didnt jam well at all &even stopped the audition to tell us that we were not playing the song correctly (brown eyed girl van morrison fxxx me!!!) but supposed to be experienced (what a roaster) more like a bedroom boy guitarist. Anyway that's my rant finished to add to the other rants. Missing some good live funk soul music up this way & players to play it fed up doing depp work looks like I'll have to start my own band up to sort this out.

cheers (To the real musos)
