Hi there,
I love singing and wanting to get some feedback on whether or not i'm good enough to be in a band? Any feedback'll be greatly appreciated! Thanks! http://www.bandmix.co.uk/jess86384/

Hi Jess. Whether you are good enough or not only matters if you want to be "big". If you want to have fun, meet some people, get a few experiences and learn something then you should do it anyway - but make sure you enjoy it.

First of all, what Filtertron said - absolutely spot on!

But you did ask so I'm going to try to give an honest critique and the short answer is that you're okay though not great. If you listen back to your recording you will be able to tell where your pitching is dodgy - in fact, that's often more to do with being nervous and self-conscious when you make the recording than anything else. You have a pleasant tone to your voice and you're clearly not tone deaf. Too many people think that having a good singing voice is something you're born with and that doesn't have to be the case, even a great voice can be improved upon (and protected) by learning some formal techniques. If you're serious about your music you could do a whole lot worse than to take some singing lessons to help with your breathing and pitching and, most importantly, to increase your confidence. Incidentally, I'm not a singing teacher but I did have lessons in the past and I know what a difference they can make. Good luck!
