Not for musicians, but for venues that have any pull. When i go see new bands from this area, it seems (aside from way less venues than say 5 years ago) audiences just dont seem to wanna come out to support the bands now as they did a few years ago. Reckon this is down to the poor economy of the country or are people just not as interested in live music now?
Im not in a band atm btw, so this isnt me moaning cause i cant pull a crowd in :p

I have moved from North Nottinghamshire to the Midlands - In north Notts every shop has a following - bands have a following etc. There's a big music community there .
Here - I cant find one Instrument shop with a message board in it -- that tells you something.
And most of the shops are selling non branded builders planks with strings roughly stretched across - having the same intonation as a wheelie bin towed by a ford fiesta.
Up in north Notts the shops are almost like pubs (without the drink) - everyone meets there - gossips - banter(rude or disgusting usually) - swaps equipment(junk) - stories(Lies) and posts messages. Here near Birmingham - it's dead- nada - zip - zero...it's a cultural desert.
