We are an amateur Big Band based in Camberwell, South London, looking for more drummers, bassists, guitarists and pianists.
We play upwards of thirty gigs a year in pubs, bandstands, private functions and beer festivals, and rehearse on a Wednesday evening in Camberwell. We play everything from Glenn Miller-era swing, through to more modern jazz and funk arrangements.
We operate a rotation system for rhythm (both at rehearsals and gigs) and although we have a couple of occasional drummers and pianists, we have space for a few more as they are not always available. You would be expected to be a good reader, very comfortable improvising and wanting to get involved in the band long-term. We operate a subs system of £10 a month (£10 a quarter concessions) and all money raised from gigs goes towards the running of the band. All our gear is available for your use at rehearsals and gigs.
