1-1-1-1
4-5-4-5
4-5-1-1

is the model, right?

You want it in E, right?

e=1, f=2, g=3, a=4, b=5, c=6, 7=d and the octave 8=e

Plug it in..

E-E-E-E
A-B-A-B
A-B-E-E

The point is that whatever your tonic root, you just inject it in the 1 spot.

I don't care if it's E, A, B, C, G or ?

The same pattern can be had and it's a basis for blues..

There are always more/different progressions.. but that's a nice place to start.
