I'm looking for Beatle sound alikes/ look alikes (bands or individuals) in Southern California, who look early 20s to early 30 and can do some rudimentary acting. More than just a Tribute Concert. Reply to pm49er@verizon.net

Sorry if this is inappropriate for a Forum. I'm new to this site and don't see anywhere else to post this.

Dude.. You have an awesome voice!! I'm surprised you're not a working musician here in Vegas. You seem like you have a wide range of genres and songs behind you.

So why the Beatles ad??

Thanks very much - I really appreciate your comments. I live here in SoCal because of family.

The Beatles ad is for a Musical Biography of the Beatles that I wrote. It was produced a couple of months ago and got rave reviews. We are going to re-mount it and I'm always looking for guys who can play and sing the different parts. (I was George in the original Broadway production of Beatlemania, back in 1977.)

That sound pretty cool..There was a kid on here a while back who would have been perfect for it. Didn't live near you, but reminded me a lot of John.

I lived in Huntington for a few years. Absolutely LOVE it there. If you're ever up here let me know. That kind of thing goes over really good here. Vegas is all about that kind of thing and casinos always pay good.

If I'm ever in your neck of the beach I'll let you know as well. We do plan on playing Huntington next year sometime. I have friends there.

Seriously, my props to you. I liked the vid in your profile. This forum has good people like yourself around here. Please feel free to stick around. This is good company. We're as close to an online family as I imagine you can ever get.

We have a Beatle tribute band here in the Kansas City area called Liverpool as the Beatles. As much as I don't understand being in a tribute band I have to admit these guys are UNBELIEVABLE. They sound EXACTLY like the Beatles. They have all the vintage instruments like the Beatles, dress like the Beatles. Their show consists of three shows in one where they dress like the early Beatles, the Beatles in their middle years and then the Beatles right before their break-up. The band I was in years ago opened for them at an outdoor festival. I still can't get over how EXACT their reproduction was, UNCANNY...

When I was in B'mania, over 30 yrs ago, the only Beatles tribute band I was aware of was Rain, arguably the pre-eminent Beatle band out there today. I am told that there are now around 600 in N America.

As for not understanding being in a Tribute band - many of us play cover tunes for a living. Why not play the greatest (or your favorite) music of all time? I only did it for 2 yrs and I never got tired of playing those tunes.

Dang, Howard, I wish I could play and sing that purty! I wouldn't care if it was in the A.M. or the P.M. :)
Seriously, good stuff, and I hope you find the guys you need.

I don't understand being in a tribute band of ONE artist. There's so many good artists to cover. To restrict yourself to just one band, no matter how good, is well too restrictive. Plus I write some real good tunes. I HAVE to cover more than one AND play my own stuff. That's just my opinion.

DITTO DITTO FREAKIN' DITTO!!
I have a hard time doing even 2 songs by any one artist. The only artist I gig 2 songs of is Jimi Hendrix. Having said that I have recorded maybe 10 beatles songs.

I NEVER cared for the Beatles music(.) I always thought that they sounded waayyy too English. Too prim, Too proper, not quite raw or rauchy enough. Ofcourse, I must admit. I am a true, rhythm & blues, Soul, Rock"n"Rock, older Country, kind of guy. Just couldn't take a band serious, that sang about a, "Yellow Submarine", "Uncle Albert", "Seargent Pepper", "Strawberry Fields" etc, etc, etc.
There was ONLY two songs they recorded, That I liked, "Hey Jude", and "Let it Be".
Other than that, as far as I'm concerned, they could have stayed in Angland !!!

You also are looking at mainstream Beatles.

Try checking out some of their lesser known tunes. They are really good and deserve a 2nd look.

Revolver has me going back and reviewing ... It's a good place to start.
