ACCELERANT: Listeners wanted!!

Please don't frown upon my shameless attempt at promotion, but I thought maybe somebody would be interested in hearing our song "Jesus Built My iPod" or watching our Comcast video for "Pyro Manifesto." The band is in hiatus now because we just got a new drummer and we need to work on new material, but I'm trying to build our relatively massive following back up in time for our next show in a couple months. So, especially if you live in the Atlanta area, check out ACCELERANT!!

Thanks,
-Nytsud!

Far be it from me to poo-poo anyone's attempt at self-promotion, as long as it's tastefully done. You've been far less irritating than many at it.

Listening to "Jesus Built My Ipod," now. Funny title, that, & I was expecting a christian rock band thing. This doesn't sound like any christian band I ever heard, yet, from the lyrical content, that fits ya. Cool bean sh*t. I'm trying to picture rapturous crowds of headbangers writhing in the mosh pit for Jesus...where do you play this sort of thing? I doubt your average church would go for it.

Not really my ball of wax, but I'm sure there's a market for it & I'm just too old to get it. Good energy, though. (Funny how I keep saying that to these bands that I'm missing the point of, ain't it? I'd prefer more melody & less screaming at me, myself.) I DO find it kinda weird to be hollering your message like this, but if Southern Baptist ministers can do it, why not a screamo band? It just seems too angry & full of hate, in its general attitude, for me to feel comfortable with, no matter the overall lyrical content.

I'm anxiously waiting for sans' response, as a fellow rocker for god.

Good luck finding your drummer. Welcome to the forum.

Uh, Philby, I don't think they're a Christian band (wow, that was weird. When I just now typed CHRISTIAN, spell checker underlined it, so I clicked on it and I had it spelled right, just not capitalized. I'm gonna write a song, "Jesus Built My Spellchecker"). :) Also, don't call 'em SCREAMO. You know the sh*t we got into with Ryan.

Accelerant, I, like Philby, don't really get into that type of music (I call it ANGRY music), but can appreciate any kind of musicianship and you guys definitely have it. Good song, good playing and well recorded. When you get your drummer in shape, you'll have no trouble getting a following again. There's lots more headbangers and lots less of us old farts out there. Good luck.
Not my cup o' tea, but I'd pour my sons a glass. :D

Thanks everybody for the input, and no, we are definitely NOT a Christian band! Jesus Built My iPod is a sarcastic look at the way people are dependent on their technology the way that other people are dependent on religion. I like writing goofy sarcastic lyrics.

Well for what it's worth, here it is Phil:

I like the overall energy of the band. I consider much of our own music "border line" when considering the energy vs anger angle especially in some of my own compositions.
I think these boys have a toe over that line.
I do not like the vocal style, though some of it has an appeal to me, a greater percentage is just too course IMO.
If I were to make a comparison based on what little I have heard from these boys. I would have to say that they are representitive of the "new" metal style. Where we would be more of the old metal ( punk / grunge ) style.
NKF almost sounds like two different bands when we go from our milder set into our heavy set. ( based on comments from our fans) I have to wonder if these gents have that versatility as well.

No way, George. That's actually more of a 90s [old] kinda punk and metal. I know. It's not really old, but if a decade has passed since then, then it's automatically old

So what are ya really saying, Andy? Ya telling us that accellerant's old & sans is anciently decrepit? LOL

It's all new to me.

Technically very good stuff. I've never liked this type of stuff although certain tracks from various bands do get my feet tapping.

My ears sort of close off and become numb when I hear grunge music and yelling it sounds a lot like that wretched rooster, no worries though I'm the same in a loud pub too. :D

On that note I may put "Wretched Rooster" to work in a track something like this? I think it will go down a storm in a local.

Great timing, loved the video too which was very well done indeed.
Best.

Chippy.
