Well guys, I have decided to take up playing the pedal steel guitar. I've been looking for a steel player for so long I've decided to do it myself. Anyway, wish me luck.....

The pedal Steel is such a beutifull piece of equipment. The sounds and cry that comes from them are amazing. Great luck with this adventure and good luck mastering that monster

Wanna freak some people out? Add a talkbox to your pedal steel rig.

That is one fun instrument, once you start to learn stuff on it. Kinda complicated. Have fun tuning it...& tuning it again...& tuning it again...

The lead solo on Red Rider's "Lunatic Fringe" was done on a pedal steel with overdrive. I didn't know that for years.

Heck, it was used in that Starland Vocal Band song "Afternoon Delight."
David Lindley uses it to great advantage, too.
It's a good instrument, if it's used properly, but when it isn't, it's as bad as misused bagpipes.

more then a few pink floyd solo's are done on pedal steel, and a fuzz box on one of those, would be interesting if I'm hearing it in my head right, and a talk box would AMAZING with one of those, Adam Jones of tool uses a talkbox in an amusing way, nothin like frampton, more along the lines of Gilmor in keep talking, now I'm ramblin, good luck bobby

Ok, not sure I know what a steel pedal is, unless of course it's the same as a steel guitar? And if that be the case, then cool beans, I'm not as dry behind the ears as I thought I was. LOL Good look Bobby on all of your new adventures, including the steel pedal. I work with a fella that plays the steel guitar, he's been playing for more than 30 years now. I love the way steel guitars sound, they seem to really bring the sounds more alive, yet at the same time since I mostly play the acustic guitar, I like the sounds of those as well.
