Hayden it,s simple my man. It would not matter our National polacies.
Some people will hate US and want to destroy US because hate is all they know. We as a nation or individuals are not responible for hate, other than our own.
...& that which we cause with our meddling & breaking of treaties & such. I'd say we're responsible for creating that hatred against us when
we are the ones breaking the rules that WE helped to create, while making sure that everyone else follows them to the letter. Sans, I love ya like a bro, man, but can't help but disagree on lots of things political.
When the entire world gets together to try to solve ecological problems, & our pres walks out saying "Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter," with that "eff you" attitude, it doesn't exactly engender likeability.
When we cross the lines that WE were heavily invested in creating, like the Geneva Convention, we don't look like a good ppl.
When we break treaties with the arab world that were written by none other than George Washington, we stand to gain enemies in that world.
When we set up puppet gov'ts around the world to further our economic interests at the cost of the indigenous populations, it's bound to create a bit of that hatred.
When we host events on foreign soil, & ignore & even flaunt our disregard for their cultural restrictions & practices while bragging that we are the greatest country in the world, that's bound to cause ill feelings, don't you think?
Hate doesn't just rise from nowhere, sans. It has a cause.
As good as we tell ourselves we are, we tend to ignore that which our gov't does on a daily basis throughout the world. Our gov't continually tells us that it's out there helping ppl, but more often than not, when you delve into the actual facts of the situation, we tend to look rather self-serving as a nation.
We used to be the best. We produced the best stuff, grew the most & the best food. Now we use the power we achieved from our prior strength to get others to do it for us cheaper, & just use others more than any other country on the global scene. And now the corporations & richest among us, who own our gov't, are in the process of doing the same thing to our own population, & I don't like it one damned bit more than anyone else in the world likes it.
Neither I nor Ron Paul are saying that we are responsible for all the ills in the world. We ARE saying that we aren't helping the situations, & our actions tend to make the lives of the very few better than the rest, & that needs some major changing, perhaps even on a rebellious & revolutionary scale. We've come very close to having ultimate power without check, sans. With that power comes the corruption & the accompanying misuse of others for our own gain. It's only natural that the third world, & much of the second, hates us, & we shouldn't be surprized or outraged about it. We should STOP the practices that cause it.
