Kicks Ars, very high energy. Sounds like you guys were playing live and recording straight from your mixing console, this can be very hard to do because of sound blead thru headphones. I like your band a lot. I would be a fan if I weren't so far away, drummer is great, great guitars and bass. leads and vocals a little low in the mix tho.

Thanks J! From what I remember it was just 2 mics and a cassette recorder, that's how I usually recorded back then, hence the unbalanced mix. I couldnt get the other mic all the way over to Jim's (the other guitar player's) area of the club-room. Our sound-guy also it seemed was a little slow on the draw that nite.. he might have been partaking in some beverages of some sort :P We usually played straight until after the gig, then we got wasted 8) . That band broke up in 1980 so it'd be hard to be a fan now  . Herb, the drummer was playing in NYC the last thing I heard. I wish I could get in touch with him. Best drummer I've ever been in a band with. Jim's still in Nashville. We keep in touch every so often. That recording was called "the Doobies Party" (I wont mention who the guests of honor were --Doh I did--)

How'd you get the drums to not sound extremely loud if you didn't record it from the board??

6 minutes of good stuff.

Thanks Andragon! Uh, i dunno about the drums volume-- we used to play with our amps cranked pretty loud tho (Shakey -the sound dude- use to hate that) but we didnt have wedge monitors so we couldnt hear ourselves unless cranked up.. I guess maybe our guitar amps were equal to the drums' volume.
I really dont remember the recording setup, it was almost 30 years ago.. -heh - lotta water under the bridge.. and mem-loss due to stuff we used to do..

Probly. Long time ago. You might be right, now that I think about it, I just don't remember hooking up to the mixer, but the sound guy could have done it and I dont recall. Just wanted to put those songs up for everybody to enjoy, hopefully.
Barry, the lead singer (RIP) ODd on H a few years after that was recorded. It's kinda a tribute to him.
