^ Says the guy with no music posted. Seriously though I can't imagine liking ANY one band enough to only cover their music. Plus I like doing 5 originals for every one cover. I mean radiohead is REALLY cool but still. There are hundreds of bands I would rather cover before I'd cover a second radiohead song. And as far as recording goes The only band I've recorded more than one cover by is the beatles.

We're considering starting a tribute band. We're going to call it angler tony & The Blue Marlin Band which is a fisherman bob & The Bluefin Tuna tribute band. angle tony is our new guitarist Tony and The Blue Marlin Band has exactly the SAME members as The Bluefin Tuna Band. So basically we're a tribute band of ourselves. It's a new concept in tribute bands. Just thought I'd like to share that with y'all :D :D . Later...

There are a lot of tribute bands around here; there's a few Floyd tributes, a Zappa tribute, a Black Sabbath tribute, just to name a few. To me there's so many great artists that I couldn't do a tribute for much more than a one-off show (I've actually done a Hendrix and a Zeppelin tribute, both only did one show. Great fun but nothing sustainable).

I was recruited to play in a ZZ Top tribute band a few years ago. I would of had to dress up with a fake beard and everything. Those guys are gigging constantly. I wasn't really interested in the gig but found out later that some band members weren't getting paid. Not pay fisherman bob? Time to hire an oral surgeon. Later...

haha that explains the missing teeth on the musicians around here.. just kidding.

I would be willing to do a tribute 'gig' or 2 [not be in a band] for only 2 bands: Alice in Chains or MetallicA.
Other than that, I don't think it's worth it. Like Paul said, I'm way too into improvising to be in a tribute band.
