Saving the future of music (well... at least trying to)

Too much music out there. Most of it is crap (trust me, I know. I have to listen to loads of crappy music every day). I represent a free music site that tries to pull the diamonds out of the crap and offers talented musicians all kinds of opportunities. If you think you're talented (I'd like to see a musician admit he isn't talented. And mean it), check out this link. Might help you-

Peace.

I entered a song in your contest at OurStage. It ran from Apr through June.

Never heard nuffin about it.

I'm a crushed & broken man, now.

Of course, it might have been some of that crap you were talking about.

:?

Hopefully we won't sound like crap tomoorow at our next gig. (Don't think we ever sound like crap since this is the sixth time we're doing this annual gig.) After that I'm going to catch some crappie. Later...

A few too many of these types of "services" have popped up lately. Many are surreptitious and vague, where others are just obviously scams of sorts. Proceed with caution.

Still, it'd be nice, after you entered a song in a contest, if they told you what your standing was afterward.

I'm not gonna bother with this crap anymore just because of that. Why bother, if you don't get any feedback? I mean, for all I know I was the 1st runner up or something, but without any knowledge of it, there's nothing for me to go on.

I think these things would be so much better if they listed all the songs entered, in the order of popularity, after the contest is over.

Maybe I should start up one of these things.

I feel if they were legit, you would get feed back. If not, what the hells the point in entering?

Myspace and YouTube. Pretty obvious, no?

well it seems that the next generation is up and coming and looking to separate itself from the last, so myspace is "last week" and I think Facebook is the new thing. Actually I think Facebook is starting to fade and the newbies are looking for the next separation. YouTube still going strong, but there are lots of copycats / alternate sites popping up these days.

Things seem to be going at a much faster pace, but still seem to change from generation to generation, perhaps even sub generations... for instance I remember in the 80's, my generation in high school was comprised of 86-90 (graduation years) and did everything to separate ourselves (identity / music wise) from the 1985 and earlier crowd (can you say spandex  )

haha yes I can.. God they look painful *shrug* :?
But I disagree.. Facebook is more like "Oh look, I'm leaving you a teddy bear comment. Let's go play a lame online card game."
Myspace is heading in that direction, but the music/bands part of it is still going strong.
YouTube.. well, it's the #1 online video sharing site. You probably wanna hear what someone sounds like live. Or you might be searching for someone's music on there.
There are other sites around that you can have profiles with music on and stuff, but none of em gather the attention of those two. Reverb Nation comes close, but nah.
