Yea, like the one above said: it's a lil bit incoherent and the lead, on "West @ Sunrise" for example, was a lil distracting when everything was being played/sung at the same time. I think the lead should've gone for a deeper and more distorted tone to fit better (like the rhythm guitar's tone halfway through). But that's just me.
Cool stuff though. Rock on.

We really appreciate the feedback, and I understand the production value. We was using an 8 track recorder and just trying to catch live tracks. However, thank you very much for your input, and we will definitely apply it to future recordings.

Well, aside from the fact that you need someone who CAN record, engineer, & mix your stuff, I think you definitely have something going on that should be continued for as long as you can keep it going.

I had a helluva time getting through as much as I did due to the recording quality.

I agree with SP in that you remind me of Tragically Hip, if only in the vocals, yet you also have your own sound. Keep developing it, & you'll probably get a good cult following & make lots of cash, and play your lil butts off doing live shows, too.

For many ppl, you are no doubt an acquired taste, but as you grow you'll keep capturing the attention of ppl, if you keep your writing skills & your energy level up.

I love that cool sound. Good material. Musicianship & vocals are quite good enough for it all. Get someone to produce it properly.

Despite the crude recording quality, the essence of good basic rock&roll is there! The rhythm playing (as in drums and bass) sounds weak when the guitar plays leads. This should improve as the band develops. If not, an additional guitar or keyboard player would be in order. Decent songwriting, (put me to mind of Tom Petty or Crazy Horse) so.....

Yeah Howlin' we are just two guitars and drums. So the Rhythm section is lacking, why is it so hard to find a bassist? However, many thanks to everyone that has posted a reply thus far. We really appreciate the critique and will use such to help produce a better sound and art.

Hey, SP! Elvis Costello was/is great!



Loved his stuff throughout his career. He, too, has his own sound that, while it may remind you of others for a moment, still comes through as his own. He does lively stuff, too, which is rare anymore.

I'm sick to death of the dreary sad or loud & angry...whatever happened to upbeat & cool?

These Blank 45 guys have it. That's when it's the best, imho. Make 'em dance & forget their troubles for awhile, don't dump your problems on the ppl!

Thanks Phil and SP! Just to be considered as an original style, just like that of Elvis Costello is a highly appreciated compliment. Thank you for such reviews. We will be hitting a professional studio soon. So keep an ear out for the better produced sound.

I'm going to critique something that Sentient Paradox said in critiquing the Blank 45's. Here's the quote "You really don't need to boost anything there. Your playing says it all. I can hear the power. It doesn't really need to be forced on me." These words should be EVERY MUSICIAN'S MOTTO. Volume, gain, and power have NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER. The power in your playing is the strength of the emotion that your listener feels. It doesn't matter how many watts your amp or PA has. Whether you're an ear splitting loud metal band or a solo acoustic performer you HAVE NO POWER IF YOUR AUDIENCE DOESN'T HAVE AN EMOTIONAL REACTION TO YOUR MUSIC. Every musician needs to think seriously about making music and STOP MAKING NOISE, otherwise you have NO POWER. WHat a great quote, "I can hear the power. It doesn't really need to be forced on me." Way to go Sentient Paradox!!
