I don't know what to say obout this song, just like other posters I'm curious to know what the listeners if any, think of it.

For some reason it brings Widespread Panic to mind. Good use of the "Sledgehammer" horn parts played on guitar. (I know - it wasn't Peter Gabriel's lick 1st, either!)

When it started up I thought oh dear another cross between '80's new wave & southern rock, but as it went on it caught me up in it.

I like it. Wish I could hear the words better. It could use some tweaking on minor stuff, but I get it - it's a rough cut.

Very nice tune, fretwork. I could jam on it for a good while.

Wow I missed your comment shame on me, thanks Philbymon for the endorsement sorry about the inaudible lyrics it’s like you said a rough cut as I said before trying to make a quality recording for me is a drag, I’ll keep on working on it one of these days I’ll get it right I hope.

We talkin bout "Shine"? I like it. Hate doing comparison, almost as much asI hate it when someone says "You sound like" Dang it I want to sound like ME.
In any case it has a Dire Strait "feel" to me. (notice I did not say sounds like) I am constantly amazed by the core quality of the music I hear on this site.
Good Tune.
Thanks for the Sunday morning listen!

Oh yes and please prop up the lyrics a little.

You've 2 songs posted.
Style-wise, 'Shine it Bright' is more to my liking.
Seems like a nice song, pleasant; I agree. Keep doing that kind of stuff . . .
.
On the technical end, I'd offer you 2 suggestions.
A wide stereo separation is nice, but it only sounds wide like that if you are IN the band. Musicians to the left, musicians to the right . . .
But the audience might be hearing the Left & Light channels closer together . . .
Many people may prefer the separation this way, but I've found that if you have a song with 4-5 tracks, - that it seems more 'real' if you don't separate by more than 25%/75%, L & R.
The number of tracks in a song can change this, - the more tracks - the 'bigger' the group. They're probably physically standing farther away from each other . . . wider sound sources . . .
The bigger the group - the wider you should separate them. If the group is smaller - maybe closer is better . . . dunno - maybe it's a matter of preferance.
My other suggestion is to bring out the midrange more . . .
Good work, though . . .

Rhythm man thanks for the advice on the panning your assessment between number of instruments and how much to pan is something I didn't know, the thing about this board is one can learn a great deal about making and recording music, there is a lot of technology out there and I having concentrate mostly on the playing aspect I’m not quite
With it yet.
BTW: are those your fingers in the picture?

Sonshoueil it is I that should thank you for taking the time to listen to one of my tunes, now if I could get my recording to the quality level of your's I'd be a better sounding musician.

lucky for you, you don't live near me cause I'd be knocking on your door every weekend.

Man If I was as happy with my recordings as you it would reduce my stress level. We practice on Tuesday night. Bring it on bro. I have an aquaintence from work who said she has been working on a tune for a long time. She is to come out next Tuesday and get with me and the boys to see if we can hash something out for her. May be adding a percussionist whom hails from the Dark Contenent as well. Now if I can just get my licks up to par we will have it going on.
