I would, unless I had a buncha gigs lined up...no sense working w/someone who won't work. He's got the range you want, but you could write for another range if you had to.

good luck.

Brad,
Initially, my thoughts ran along the same lines as Plilbymon's. Give the slackin' little weasel the boot. Unless they are exceptional frontmen (or women), in the live performing mode , I've never had much desire to pay a cut to somebody that "just sings" and can't even play an instrument.

However....

After giving your music a quick listen (I'll check it out closer later) it sounds like you guys are tight! Establish a leader in your band, (Not a tyrant, just someone everyone respects). Get a consensus from the group. Confront your singer. Offer an ultimatum. Jordan sounds like a good singer who has contributed much to the band in the past. He deserves a hearing.
Use good judgement, you guys have an excellent band going, and you all deserve to git playin' out.

Well first, thanks man, I'm glad you dig it. Secondly, as far as the leader thing goes, that'd be me. I actually write 98% of all the material. But its great because the dudes usually love and its easy going during the writing process. If they don't like something, I don't freak out. We usually just change it. We have had many talks with Jordan. Believe me I don't want to do anything rash given the kids talent. But nothing seems to change. I also think that we've got a great thing going here and thats what really makes this hard. Thanks for the input though guys. It helps to just talk my thoughts out. And something I just thought of, this isn't just me thinking this. Me and the other 3 members are all on the same page. As it is now...we're going to kick him out. But is this the right decision? Thats the question to end all questions.

Hey Brad, first off, GREAT music. I really like the guitar work in all the songs! Way to keep it alive and not borish like much of todays' modern rock.

In reading this thread, and listening to your tunes, I have to ask:

You said you discussed this with the singer, but how did he respond?

Did he discuss why he's been flaking out? Did he offer any insight to his motives or attitude? Is he one of those guys who says one thing and does another?

I'm just guessing here, but I have the feeling that he has no idea that his actions are burning the bridge, so kicking him out might actually be an unexpected turn from his perspective. Again, I'm just making guesses from what I've read so far, and there's always tons of backstory we don't know.

Brad,

Sounds like the game has been played, and its "checkmate" for Jorden.

Time to move forward.

Best of luck with your musician search and welcome to the forum.

John

Thanks duder! I'm glad you like it. But yeah, anytime we correct Jordan on anything, he's an excuse machine. He never really says "your right, I'll work on it." Its more like "oh, ive been sick" "my throat", "I've just been..." you get the idea. Part of me thinks that he just doesn't want to do it anymore. Thanks for the help though dudes. U rock.

Normally I would say boot the scuzball out, but man you guys sound good!

I love those harmony guitar riffs, kind of like old Iron Maiden but with a more modern feel.

The vocals sound good, I didnt detect any pitch or tonal issues. I sure hate it for you guys. Maybe you could tell him you are auditioning other people cause he isnt committed enough and maybe that would bring him around.

"Man, I never know what to write in these things...We play rock music. We want to tour the world and not have to work day jobs. Because those are gay." I copied this from your profile, this is the best profile I have ever seen on here. Anybody who thinks day jobs are gay is cool by me. I hope you guys get something worked out cause there has to be a place in the world for your music. Good Luck

Everbody who likes guitar rock needs to check these tunes out.

Man. You guys are too freakin cool. Thank You. Thank You. But yeah, he sounds great on recordings. The issue has been live and at practice, not to mention that hes skips practice almost once a week now. Its sad really. Hopefully we can get him to come around. Otherwise, the hunt begins for someone who wants it as bad as the others in the band...

Missing practice about once a week? Boot his ass. Most good singers would be lucky to have the opportunity to replace him.

Dude, I am a singer and I get crazy when my drummer or bass player "doesn't feel like it," I am considering to just quite and find another band because i love music, I love singing and writting, if anyone gets in the way of that I cut them loose. Basicly if ya wanna move forward you gotta cut the ropes holding you back.

Yea ya'll got it goin on bro. You need to be right up front with your front man. Like put your boot in his ass. As in you got three practices to show us you want to be part of the show or your history jack. Nothing personal just business.

Yeah, sans said it.

It IS a business. You have to approach it as such, esp if you don't have a day gig (which I do & I'm horrified to learn that it's gay!!!! [not that there's anything wrong with that]).

Like what I've heard. Keep up the writing.

OK....My name is Brad as well.....That aside, FIRE HIM!!! OMG!! The Music rocks, but the singer is a whiny bitch. I hate that crap! I'm sorry. That was over the top on my part. But seriously, dump him.............

Sounds pretty much like a drop his whinning-ass concensus.
