If you know and love the Chili Peppers through and through, and are intimately familiar with their studio AND live material, please email me to set up an audition. The most important thing to me is to be incredibly passionate about RHCP's music and be able to play it well, and match the style, tone, etc of the band.
You must be familiar with at least the vast majority of these:
Blood Sugar Sex Magik
- Breaking the Girl
- Funky Monks
- Suck My Kiss
- I Could Have Lied
- Give it Away
- Under the Bridge
One Hot Minute
- Aeroplane
Californication
- Around the World
- Parallel Universe
- Scar Tissue
- Otherside
- Get On Top
- Californication
- This Velvet Glove
- Right On Time
- Purple Stain
- Easily
By The Way
- Don't Forget Me
- The Zephyr Song
- Can't Stop
- Throw Away Your Television
- Universally Speaking
- By The Way
Stadium Arcadium
- Dani California
- Charlie
- Slow Cheetah
- Strip My Mind
- Wet Sand
- Hey
- Tell Me Baby
- 21st Century
- Readymade
- Snow (Hey Oh)
Live at Slane Castle (entire concert)
There are plenty of other great RHCP songs, especially a lot of their B-sides, and other tunes like Fortune Faded and Save the Population. There are also some good tunes off I'm With You and The Getaway, although audiences aren't as familiar with those albums. I'm very open to adding as many as possible.
It helps a lot if you're also familiar with other top live concerts they've thrown (examples: Hyde Park 2004, La Cigale 2006, Fuji Rock 2006, Live at the Alcatraz, etc).
One last note I'd like to make is that while you don't have to physically look like Anthony, Flea, or Chad, you MUST be physically able to put on a 2 hour or more show where you're putting every ounce of energy into it. One of the things that's cemented RHCP as one of the best rock bands of the last few decades is how great of a show they put on and how much passion they pour into each gig. A proper tribute band has to try to match that.
I have a number of bar and restaurant contacts to get us gigs once the band is assembled and well rehearsed. You must be able to rehearse once a week, and be ready for gigging out 2 to 4 times a month once we get going. I live in Coral Springs, but we'll be gigging all over Broward County.
