Retracked vocals and added more guitar work, first song on my profile player. This is the final assignment I did for the Berklee Songwriting Class.
I tried various percussion ideas, including drums in the choruses and bridge, shakers, tambourine, etc, but to my ear it sounded best with just the acoustic guitars.

Mix comments/suggestions?

Desert Snow

Feelings of sadness under empty skies
Traveling miles just to say goodbye
No one says it, but everyone knows it's true
Everything changes and memories fade, too.

Then a sign, a message from above
Sent to remind us of all the love
No matter what, there's always hope
From something unexpected, like desert snow.

All of a sudden dark day turns bright
Crystalline beauty, blanket of white
Grief is muffled, like footsteps in snow
A gift to a stranger, to let them grow.

Remember when things get too tough
We've got within us the power of love
No matter how bad, there's always hope
Some kind of miracle, like desert snow.

You're never alone
Your destiny unknown
Feel it in your soul
Like desert snow

A new sunrise, a brand new start
Feel it inside, feel it in your heart
They're always with us, sweet memories
Bringing a smile, like a cool desert breeze.

Remember when things get too tough
We've got within us the power of love
No matter how bad, there's always hope
Some kind of miracle, like desert snow.

Like desert snow, like desert snow

I can't get past that little timing thing on the looped git... it's messing me up man!

So besides the song did you gain anything from the course?
I've talked to others that have taken it... but never hear much about it afterwards. They keep your song right? I think I read it in their rules somewhere...

No, they don't keep the song, you only submit through a soundcloud file that people can listen to.

I'll guess I'll have to try re-recording the guitar part. I don't know how many takes I did before giving up last time, maybe I can find a finger picker who can play it without mistakes!
