Hello! I'm possibly going to be playing for several evenings at a campsite this summer where there is no power source. Has anyone ever tried using a power inverter connected directly to a (spare) car battery? I don't need to blow anybody's doors off, but I'm hoping to play for 2-3 hours for several nights at a moderate volume (just loud enough to be heard over a drummer). Would this work? Are there any better options short of a generator (which I want to avoid due to the fumes)? Thanks all!
I'd be more likely to try one of the small battery operated amps or PA's that are on the market today.
Or a small generator with a power conditioner.
Playing 'over a drummer' can be a steep challenge depending on the drummer.
Many I've met play well, but they have no finesse with every single down beat as hard as they can.
Others can work an acoustic level room without stepping on the other performers.
I know for a fact Paleopete utilizes an inverter. Seen him do it.
Might ask him. Very knowledgeable fellow on such matters.
