I know theres nothing very Tech. with the Seattle eras alternative/modern rock. But there is alot of talent to discover if your looking for it. The simple two string chords. Tunning LOW....Low C, etc. Added so much more, As to say "Guts". Funk. Loud three piece band. Using dynamics and just simply push the power! From around 1993 until now is one, If not my favorite era's in music history. But, If your not into it. Thats Kool Too........ 8)

Not the 'Funk' like Bootsy, But if you play Bass guitar and you cant hear or feel the funk, Then you are missing it all. What do you hear? Rock, Blues, Noise??? I really dont care what you hear my friend. Dont be so f***ing picky!

The number of awesome musicians/bands from the Seattle area is considerable. Just to name a few:

Jimi Hendrix
Alice in Chains
Soundgarden
Nirvana
The Melvins
Pearl Jam
Modest Mouse
Deathcab for Cutie

You probably don't like r&r if you don't like someone on this list.

We all know what we are talking about, Seasoned musicians. (All that have posted a thread above). But a mature musician is 'Naturally a 'Humble' person. I respect, MOST, talented musicians at this forum. It simply is to, Aquirer the ability to be humble, etc., & always know what you are talking about, Before you speak. & Dont tolerate rudeness, From anyone....PEACE.

Seattle is a mixed bag. Yeah, it's produced some quality acts and artists, but again so have many other places. I have a friend that lives on Vashon (sp?) Island and went to visit her for a week in Seatlle. I liked Pikes Market, I liked the seafood, yes, I liked the coffee shops too. But all that rain...forget it. I could never live there. The clouds and rain, too depressing. I'd wanna off myself in a month.

The thing that Seattle had was a scene. The bands used to support each other and go to each other's shows (see the movie "Hype" for more on that). This is a rare thing in r&r; most bands are just out for themselves. There was a scene in Detroit for a while but it seems to have cooled; the music biz is going through some real changes.
