Looking for young male keyboard player (Baton Rouge)

Hi, I'm a 29 year old guy who plays keyboard, and loves playing a wide variety of pop and soft rock music, and I'm looking for another guy around my age to develope a long-lasting friendship with who I can learn some new skills from such as songwriting, and learn how to recreate some of my favorite electronic based pop songs from the 80s to today, as well as creating all new songs. I am not interested in joining a band yet, and I'm also not in a rush to get out and do gigs.

I'm looking for someone who's talented. If you have additional talent singing ( like Richard Marx, Adam Lambert, David Archuleta, or Kris Allen) and/or playing guitar, that would be even better.

Depending on how things go with this guy, I might be interested in that down the road, but right now, I want to start small, and do this right.

I started "playing" at 4 years old, and officially took lessons at 13 to learn how to read music, and learn most of the basic terms in music. I have perfect pitch.

Check my profile for a sample video, and further information.

Do not respond to this if:

1. You love to go to bars to get drunk, or do drugs, or you love showing off to your friends how much of a rocker you are.
2. You have a lot of things to juggle all at once like taking care of kids, a full time job, are already in a band, college, and volunteer work.

What's so funny sir? I am looking for someone who just happens to play keyboard, but isn't quite so serious about pursuing a career, but someone who is passionate about music like me, and is looking for a buddy who also shares my passion for playing some of the same artists I enjoy. Picture someone who's going to college and taking a few general studies courses, and maybe has a part-time job in retail or at a fast food resturaunt, gets off during the afternoon. Also picture someone who doesn't have a whole lot of friends.

Unlike what most people here come here for. What I'm looking for is going to be harder to find. One way to help that along would be to make reliable connections. If someone could help me learn about bands and solo artists in Baton Rouge that play some great pop and soft rock songs from the 80s, 90s, and today, or some advanced music teachers in my area, that would be a great place to start.

To those here who just want to come here and make fun of me, or who are scared of me or those who think they are all that because they simply have more experience playing in bands, screw you guys. Those guys have issues of their own that they haven't worked out yet.

I am proud of who I am as a person. And I'm proud to be looking for a special friendship as opposed to what most people get into music for.

Also unlike a lot of people, I'm quite humble. I respect any given individual's music tastes, and what they want to do.

You and I are nothing alike. I'm looking for a GUY rather than a girl, because a lot of the artists I'm into have a fanbase where the girls show themselves more readily than the guys. also unlike you, I like a wide variety of decades, and bright pop as opposed to the dated new wave 80s sound. My tastes includes artists like Madonna, Richard Marx, Celine Dion, 98 Degrees, NSync, Adam Lambert, Lady Gaga, David Archuleta, Kelly Clarkson, among others, so it would mean a lot to me if I came across another guy around my age who is NOT ashamed to say that he enjoys music by some of those artists and others like them. So in other words, even if you did live in Baton Rouge, and played the keyboard, you would still be turned down.

Anyway, it would mean a lot if I could talk to someone on here who can direct me to some sites where I can still showcase what I can play and advertise for musicians, but one where the profiles are more like personal profiles on Facebook where users can fill out fields such as hobbies and other interests, among other important things to review. In addition to that, the site in question needs to have a forum, and needs to be a site where trolls, and scams are monitored much better. One with a much friendlier staff would be helpful as well.

Why do I keep running into individuals like you everywhere? Heavy metal, and hard rock music lovers of any age who waste their time insulting another person's music tastes? Why is pop music a joke to people like you? And why do I keep running into people like you EVERYWHERE online? Where are the heavy metal, and hard rock music lovers who are respectful of other's music tastes, and don't spend their time trolling another user online? Why do I keep coming across sites where trolling is not taking lightly?

Now, please, let's focus. Someone please help me find a much nicer music community. But instead of just looking it up on Google, and expecting me to try a random suggestion, I would like to discuss your experiences on the site (good and bad) and find out if that site is appropriate for what I'm looking for. And also I'd like to discuss how to effectively use the site to reach my intended audience. I came here to make new discoveries, not to be bombarded by a bunch of trolls.

Stop it! You are a guy in your 50s. What you are doing is not cool. If you are seriously angry about something, step away from the computer for awhile and calm down. I expect to see behavior like that from a kid or troubled teenager but NOT a grown man. In fact, in my search for a casual music buddy as early as 2007, I've seen WAY too many people pick on me because I like a style of music that's different from what everybody else on the given site is into regardless of age.

Also the same people who troll my posts, also troll a lot of other's posts. The only people these "trolls" are nice to are the people who like the exact same music they enjoy and who have the exact same goals as the other person. That's not the mark of a good community, and probably another reason why there aren't very many guys here who play keyboard (or guitar) and like pop and soft rock music. And not just here, but also on sites like Baton Rouge Rocks and Craigslist.

Here we go again .

Honestly, even when people do try to be helpful your just full of excuses why "it won't work".
The problem your having finding compatible whatever, starts with you.
Damn it man . . . grow up and do your own foot work for a change.

Every one of us whom is functioning in a musical capacity has had to.
Your no different.

Shut up! No one has been helpful here to me. Every one I've talked to on is either a troll, or avoid me like the plague. Not once have I ever reached anyone on here who respects my musical tastes, and who is nice enough to share his experiences with me on a given website or venue, and shows me how to use a given website effectively to find the music buddy I'm looking for.

And the people who "try" to help are individuals who are already out there playing gigs, and stuff, not your average college student.

Also remember, I don't want music to be the only activity I do with this guy. I want to allow some time to play video games, and just hang out with some general friends. Guys like you talk about music as if it's YOUR job, with the whole, DIY thing, and acusing me of making excuses as to why a certain thing won't work. Guys like you give up on me too easily, and tell me to grow up, when you aren't able to relate to what I'm looking for.

As I said, in order to find what I'm looking for, I need to be on a wider variety of music communities, not just one, and I need to ask around and learn about the specifics of what's out there. No one here has offered that.
