(1st) new tune on my page... kind of a Donny and Marie kind of song.
A lil bit country a little bit Rock and Roll!
I think it's done, don't know what else to do to it... course there is is always that delete key! :P
Just another tune.
Called "Sitting thinking drinking"

Great sounding song. When the electric rhythm part comes in, it is a little abrupt, look at how to blend it in a little smoother, maybe.

Thanks for checking it out Mike.
So you didn't like the abrupt change... was it execution or more like an aesthetic thing... or both?

I like how the electric guitar comes in! Great tune, my only suggestion is to rename it "Something In The Way". Great job as usual Jahva, you are in the upper-echelon of songwriters on BM.

I'd have to say 'execution' (I'm at work and can't listen again). First time I listened to it it was more noticeable than the next time. I don't know if you could re-do the strum/pick as it begins, r if you could just fade it in a little bit. Just MO. I'm getting real finicky with mixes these days!

I don't see the Donny And Marie Thing in there.

Its a good song.

Has the country flavor indeed. but your vocal makes it more than 'country'. One thing I like about your work Jahva, is that you have an excellent sense of narrative in each song you do. Its honest, and it doesn't try to flex narcissistic...
Keep up the good work man! :D

As I have come to expect . . . I enjoyed the composition considerably.
Even if it's outside my usual fare ( or perhaps because ti is )

I think the vocals could be pulled back a few cents . . . but that's just a personal preference.

Very nice over all.
Thanks

Thanks for checking it out guys. I appreciate your words. It was a bit rushed over the last week but what the hell... it's a demo... an idea/song. On to the next.
Mike that was suppose to be a kick point rather than a gradual build. I probably could have enhanced it to be a bit more precise and or direct.

Jimmy Yeah I don't like the title but the problem is I have another tune called Something in the way... which is more important to me.

The first verse was from a time I was in a bad marriage. One day I was drinking a beer thinking about getting a divorce and the phone rang... It was this girl I met in a bar one night a few months previous. She wanted me to come see her then all of a sudden out of nowhere my wife walks into the room... just listening to my words. So I played it off and told the girl on the phone can't leave right now there's something in my way. :?

Java

Pretty darn good. I noticed that when I cranked up the bass the tune took on a different aspect. Sort of like, you don't want to fight, but you have a set of knucks in your pocket.

Always a pleasure Jahva. Your songs are fun. I gotta disagree with MikeB though, I really like when the guitar kicks in. It sort of launches the song.

Thanks guys...
Mike I'm still learning bass and everything else for that matter... as long as the bass has a few spoken lines here and there it's all good. But running direct with a Squire bass has it's limitations.
Walk softly... :P

I DI my Squier bass too, most times I just try to get as full a sound as I can when recording.
Jahva - do you have PodFarm or any other plugin you can use to enhance bass tone? I have used a dual channel sound with PodFarm for bass, with a 'sub' sound on one, and a more distorted rock bass on the other channel, then blend them together for a fuller sound - works pretty good on full-on rock songs. For acoustic songs, I tend to just EQ the bass, but throwing it through an amp sim helps, too.

Roger I mean Jahva, the only thing and this is just my opinion, but I would drop the little guitar fills behind the first verse section, for some reason it just seemed like they took away from listening to the lyrics.

I would bring the lead out a little in the mix at the end, seems to be a bit buryed to my ears, but then I want the guitar on top of everything, so take that with a grain of salt.

Nice song, good job!

Mike I haven't spent much time trying to get a better bass sound but you've given me some food for thought.
I don't have PodFarm whatever that is just 7 band EQ options. I haven't tried double tracking yet I will on the next tune it is kind of funky bass driven.
Thanks again

JW
Thanks I do agree on the end lead. I think there is too much mid-high range in the mix and it's a bit overlapped and muddy. The lead should come up a few dbs! Fighting for space to be heard.
