One of the music sites I visit has a monthly song challenge where the winner selects what the following months challenge will be. huh? Anyway the February challenge requires the song to be in 4/4, no more than 3 chords allowed and not longer than 3 minutes in length.
Oh and you have to use the word Hamster, a half bottle of Scotch and Ukelele in the lyrics.
I don't usually enter these things but seemed like it would be fun. First thoughts were a country kind of 1 4 5 deal but it seemed too obvious so I came up with something a little darker.
It's called Ukelele first song on my player. Any critiques good bad whatever have at it. I've got a few days left to tweak it. Don't know if getting others opinions is allowed but I'll mention it when I submit it.

Other than the aforementioned raisin comment, very original.

I could not even imagine trying to write under the hindrance of "prerequisites".

Rasins ahhhh... the grapevine groove! I can see where you coming from. Probably should replace the accordion with an electric piano.

Good job! I would suggest only one small change to the words:

instead of "Her eyes they once were as blue as as blue as a summer sky"

"Her eyes they once were as blue as a cloudless summer sky"

Good use of the restrictions on the song content. Did they mis-spell "ukulele" or did they? Your other songs are better, for sure.

I've only written 2 complete songs based on 'requirements', beside when I went to the songwriting thingie, but only the themes were specified in those. If someone told me 'write a song about hamburgers', it would just suck because I wouldn't feel it.

Ukulele.... oy that would be me.
Was a good exercise.
Like i said nothing special but it did get me thinking because of the restrains. Chords are one thing but specific words... And finding a way to tie them together in the end was the challenge for me.
