Help me make some new discoveries....

Help me make some new discoverieis so I can start my pop and soft rock loving music buddy search fresh. I haven't had much luck at church due to most churches in my area admitting only Christian rock in their church, and I'm not the kind of guy that likes to go to bars and clubs.

Posting ads at Guitar Center, has also become a dud as well. I make certain things clear in the ad to prevent music producers and people in bands from responding, but despite me putting in the ad that I'm looking for a friend, I still get responses from the former. If someone could help me learn about some more music stores in my area where I can post ads, I might have more luck.

What I need to learn about are some middle ground areas, like a pop and soft rock lovers musician group put together at a local college or a music store.

Also helping me learn about some good music teachers in my area would be helpful as well, because then I could meet some students around my age who might fit what I'm looking for.

Also learning about some bands, solo projects and collab projects in my area that play pop and soft rock covers would be helpful as well, because then I could network with a good number of those people and meet my desired music buddy through that person as well.

Try to understand that this stuff cannot be easily found through Google or other major well-known search engines, because these things may not be labelled as public, or this band might be an unofficial project which doesn't have an official website. And also some of the knowledge I want to gain requires it to come from having conversations with people.

Once I talk to some people here and pick their brain about their experiences with any good suggestions they can offer, I can take care of the rest. I just don't have enough tools to work with to spread the word effectively. This search is also made harder due to the fact that I'm not in college, and I don't have a job.

Again, I cannot say this enough. In order to make these new discoveries I'm looking for, I need to have conversations with a variety of people here, and talk to them about their experiences. Work with me instead of using the DIY approach.

I forgot to state that another thing that makes this search hard is most people's lack of knowledge of what it means to be legally blind. A lot of people see that, and assume I can't see at all. That's a condition known as being totally blind. Legally blind is a type of visually impaired.

That's important for the guy to know because in most cases, he will need to be the one to come pick me up, and also provide the place to play. I still live with my parents, and there isn't a decent place to play there. What makes this worse is that a lot of the time, I reach people who live a good 45 minutes away rather than someone who lives 5 minutes or 10 minutes from my house.

Now that I covered everything, it's time for people on here to do their part.

I'm sorry if this is getting a bit annoying. I'm annoyed with having to explain the same thing over and over to some of you guys, but this is the only place I have right now to make new discoveries properly by having conversations with people.

Also going back to the church suggestion, if I did try a church, the guy I'm looking for there would need to be someone who is temporarily attending the church for the same reason I am rather than someone who has attended the church for awhile and is committed himself to God and jJesus, and listens only to Christian rock and pop. This is also where learning about specific churches in my area that may have a pop and sfot rock music club that's seperate from the group that plays during sermons.

How about opening up YOUR MIND and exploring some other types of music?

I'm already a guy with very eclectic tastes. The styles range from classic rock, some country-pop, dance-pop, AC ballads, 70s, 80s, 90s, 200s, a little alternative, R&B, boybands, singer/songwriters, well, a little bit of everything except heavy metal, and rap. I just call it "pop and soft rock" as a catch-all term for all the artists that comprise an AC station that plays a little bit of everything from the 70s to the present. Also keep in mind that I'm ALWAYS looking for new songs to play.

Also as an added bonus, I also enjoy some good game music, starting with some good music from some of my favorite Nintendo games, like music from the Metroid Prime series, Donkey Kong 64, Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Country Returns, various Mario games, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twlight Princess. I would love to learn how to compose that kind of music as well.

One of the problems is that my requests keep reaching people with a VERY limited musical pallette, for example, someone who's stuck in one decade, (usually 70s and/or 80s) or someone who's into a certain style mostly classic rock, alternative rock/grunge or metal, because it's the "cool" thing to be into or because he's trying to impress his friends or girlfriend/wife. I'm looking for someone with eclectic music tastes, and thus a guy around my age who isn't into what's typical of the music scene in my area.

Oh, and also remember, I am not interested in putting together a band or pursuing a music career yet, so I need to find someone who plays by himself as well and is not an active performing community musician.

Hey, Johnny7band, help me understand why people are treating me like dirt, but when someone else poses a question on here, you are cool with them?

You invalidate everyone's sincere input. You are a serial invalidator which is excruciatingly boring and annoying. Since you patently reject or dismiss any and all responses to your repeated lame questions you disrespect the talent and braintrust found on this site.

When you disrespect others, you get munching roos. Go ahead dismiss, invalidate, and disrespect this response. You know you want to. :D

Listen to me. When I turn someone's suggestion down, don't give me the third degree. I have a good reason why. Work with me instead of against me, and be relaxed about it.

I am not turning someone suggestion down to make that person angry or to disrespect anyone.

Also review the problems I'm having. If I gave you too much info, let's work on one problem at a time.

Also since some of these problems I'm having in my search need a little bit more attention, it would be best if the person helping me wasn't distracted by other things going on, like kids, or work, or school.
