On a side note, how do FREE account members make use of this site, without having to sign up for the premier membership?

Keep in mind that I'm not here to form a band. I'm looking for a few guys around my age who are a little more advanced than I am to polish up some of the pop and soft rock songs I'm still working on, and to learn some new skills, like songwriting, and create electronic dance-pop and synth ballads.

And by the way, I put an ad up at Guitar Center yesterday, so I'll see what happens. Responses are always so slow there, and my post always seems to reach individuals who are already part of the Baton Rouge music community and have their own projects and websites, rather than someone who just happens to play for fun, but is much more low key, and is simply looking for a friend to work on some songs together with.

No one wants anything to do with you...and there is most definitely a reason.

Most likely, a few good reasons to avoid you like the plague.

Why don't you go to another site where they welcome people like you>?
You bitched about this site and I don't think even 1 person is empathic to you because you are a whiny, little cretin with a ration of crap to deliver.

This site is for musicians, not "damaged goods with attitude issues".

I think one of your biggest issues is "you cannot play well enough" and second, your inability to do anything except exactly what you want to do.

You ought to consider just trying to play with anyone just for the experience.

If you keep talking sh*t here, you will become a verbal pinata.
And I already have a stick picked out to smack you with.
All we have to do is pick up the candy.

You are very small-minded Scott and VERY easily angered, and it looks like you have a few issues yourself. Look at those accusations that were probably made out of anger.

And of course, being a musician doesn't mean you have to work as one and be active in your music community. You can still be a musician and just play for enjoyment.

And by the way, it's comments like that that chase off any new people who might be interested in helping me.

Glam-bert, you make me laugh.

The only person that chased anyone off is you and your moronic mug.

As pathetic as you are, it's a sad kind of laugh.

I can't even write what I am thinking, cause I am afraid that you will commit suicide. That's how weak you really are..go practice, you need it.

Chief Engineer Scott, no matter how rude you are to me, I wish you luck in your endeavors. Now please leave me alone, and give other people a chance to respond.

You dope, all you have to do is plug in your zip and hit search.

How stupid are you?

That's not very effective. When I do that, I don't see ANY love for pop and soft rock (since that's not even a searchable genre here) and no love for the keyboard. And of course, it only shows those who are career seeking musicians, instead of those musicians who just play for enjoyment. How do I reach those?

If I am in the wrong place, it would be nice if a few people could direct me to something more appropriate. But note what I've already tried both online and within my area:

Online
1. Craigslist
2. Baton Rouge Rocks

Within Baton Rouge
1. Churches (not very appropriate, since a lot of the music I play is secular and a lot of the artists I cover are contraversial artists and/or subjects deemed inappropriate for a church environment.)
2. One particular music store in Baton Rouge called Guitar Center.
3. In 2007 and 2008, I tried to do several different things at Baton Rouge Community College to try to find musicians, but all ended up as flops. I only reached one dude, but I had to let him go due to the fact that he didn't have the skills and the passion for pop and soft rock music that I'm looking for.

Seriously, stop giving me the third degree and give someone else a chance to respond. Someone who has a much better attitude and doesn't point fingers like you do. Someone who understands my complaints and can direct me to something better.

I want to have some real conversations here, and not do all of this crazy back and forth acusation crap.

And by the way, if I am in violation of any terms of service or someone happens to be upset with what I'm doing. Talk to me about it so I'll know what I'm doing that's making you upset and I WILL stop.

And as I said, if this is the wrong place, help me find a more appropriate place.

I'm truly sorry if I aggravated anyone.

On bandmix but not really here to start a band and not promoting a band that you are already in.

Do you see why people my be hostile towards you?
You don't join a poker tournament to play backgammon, so why came here if your ideas aren't parallel to the website's direction?

I think it is that you confuse people.

That's a much better response. I think people are confused no matter where I post, referring to both on the internet and hard copy requests, whether I take the simple approach or if I'm thorough in my request. Whether it's implied by the tone of my request or outright stated, I need to reach those who just play music for enjoyment.
