I'm trying to find someone like this guy to do jam to some electronic pop music with, and who I can just hang out with. Someone who doesn't have fame as his first priority and just enjoys making great music.

There isn't much love for pop and soft rock music in Baton Rouge, Louisiana if you look at Baton Rouge Craigslist. And when there is some love for pop and soft rock music, or keyboard, it's usually someone who has fame and money as his top priorities. And usually someone on that site demands that the respondent needs his OWN transportation, when that's not possible for me since I'm legally blind, and thus have limited transportation, which is at the moment is my mom or dad. Thus this means that if anybody is interested in playing music with me, the person interested needs to be able to come to me. And also since I don't have a proper music room, he also needs to provide that as well. The music room doesn't have to be anything fancy. It can be a room with a computer (complete with a mixing and recording software) and a couple keyboards.

Why don't you post something of your playing so people know whether you can or not?

Fine! Here!

This is the ONLY thing I've got right now. I would create some audio samples and post them up, but I don't have any good solid equipment and software to do that. By the way, that video was filmed by my music teacher. Yes, I'm still taking music lessons, but it's more advanced stuff.

I would share this on a more appropriate local message board, but I don't know of any good ones, and the only one that's popular in my city, Baton Rouge Rocks is full of trashy, money grubbing, fame seeking , hardcore music, seasoned musicians. Putting it on my profile would be a waste because nobody in my age group and in my area seems to know I'm on this site and I would be contacted by highly seasoned musicians who have premier accounts, and people who think I'm ready to get out and perform, as was the case previously on sites like Craigslist and Baton Rouge Rocks.

And on top of that, "pop" and "soft rock" is not a searchable genre on this site, which would make it hard to find someone who can play music by Adam Lambert, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, David Archuleta, Kris Allen, Pink, among others AC artists.

And even if I do find someone like that, the person interested needs to respond from a friendship standpoint, not from a musician standpoint. And he needs to understand that due to the fact that I'm legally blind, and thus cannot drive, he would need to provide reliable transportation everytime we want to hang out.

Keep the replies coming, but let's here from soemoneone who's closer to my age, and who doesn't come off as an attention seeker. Chrissie Hind replica? Are you referring to Adam Lambert or yourself? Contact Adam Lambert? That's highly unlikley since he is hugely famous.

And by the way, is the profile of Paperdog, a band profile or a musician profile, because it's hard to tell. When I click browse, and select my city, I can't tell if those are individual musicians or bands.

I checked out that guys profile, and well, there isn't anywhere on the site where it says what city/state he is in. And of course, with just how many webistes he links his viewers to, he comes across as one of those career musicians, and not someone who just plays for fun but is good at what he does and is still a smart musician, and is simply looking for a few good friends to work on some songs with, and do other activities with.

There's a guy here in NOLA who's been posting pretty regularly on the local musicians' section on Craigslist. Sounds like he's after the same thing. You should give it a look-see.

Hey, other than the racism, misogyny, whininess, small-mindedness, chronic overposting, tendency to derail other people's threads to talk about his own bullshit, inflated self-opinion and corresponding lack of faith in the entire rest of humanity, mediocre playing ability, complete ignorance about anything outside of his own limited range of musical tastes, and stubborn refusal to heed any of the advice he constantly begged for like a sad, lonely little lost puppy who feeds off other people's futile struggles to maintain some standard of decency despite his complete lack of any qualities inspiring compassion or empathy, he wasn't a bad guy.

Hey penguin, thanks for the longest run-on sentence I've read today! Is that a future song lyric? 8)

That would be a long song...

Hey I might be wrong, but i doubt it, I think what we have here is the rebranded, slightly less obnoxious new and improved Cliffie.

Think about it...pop and soft rock, legally blind, not looking for seasoned pro musicians, (sounds like more looking for friends than musicians actually) based in Baton Rouge, Derailing any and all useful suggestions, usually with the usual "I can't" or "you don't understand" routine...

I can't find any of Cliffie's old posts, I probably ignored him long ago. But this sounds like Cliffie the second. I'm willing to bet it's the same guy with a slightly toned down attitude.

At any rate, I won't be paying any more attention any of his other threads, I'm 99.9999999% sure it's the same guy. Might look in on this one and see if anyone else sees what I see, probably won't comment much more on it...I'm convinced this is just another user name for the same person.

You're wasting your time trying to offer useful advice, he got TONS of it long ago and either ignored or derailed it all.

See ya Cliffie...
