Need help finding a more appropirate local message board...

There is only one well known music message board in my area called Batonrougerocks.com and it's more like a local extension of this place. There is very little love for the keyboard on that site, most of the people on it are much older than me and of course, the most of the musicians are into heavy metal, hard rock, and classic rock.

Can somebody please help me find something more appropriate so I can finally leave this place as well, which is also not working out too well?

I would create my own, but I don't know of any appropriate places I haven't tried where I can advertize it.

Please, keep in mind that I'm not looking for bands or working musicians. And it needs to be a Baton Rouge message board and something that's free. Also make sure it doesn't have too much stuff on it like this site does. Less is more.

Also keep in mind that I don't want to get my music reviewed because I'm simply looking for guys around my age who enjoy playing music by Adam Lambert, Richard Marx, Madonna, Kris Allen, David Archuleta, David Cook, Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, and others like them and who are still learning and NOT already guys who are already performing at Open Mics and doing gigs. Also keep in mind that I'm looking for keyboard players. So check to make sure those types of musicians are plentiful on the board as well.

Also make sure the people on the site are easy to get along with and become good friends with. I don't want to run into any problems like I did on Baton Rouge Rocks, and this board.

Also make sure the site has a decent amount of registered users on it. If it doesn't have any users on it, then I'm not going to waste my time signing up, because that would be counterproductive.

Also when reccommending a board, let's talk about your experiences on the board and see if you've found similar success.

For once, stop making such a big deal about me complaining and stop viewing it as whining. View it as me explaining what would work better for me.

And realize that I would prefer getting responses from guys around my age who actually like playing pop and soft rock music, who are NOT active musicians in there area instead of getting responses from highly experienced, old fogey musicians.

Old fogeys?

LOL You better watch it, I responded to one of those guys here in haste, made a remark about the AARP and now I am public enemy #1.

And not everyone is old or a fogey, it just happens that we have some more (erm) experienced musos here that can help (if they are inclined or reclined).

At the same time, at 28 you should be prime time instead of being "wet behind the ears".

It's all relative to who, where, what, why and how.

(Didn't I already tell you to keep your cool, jr dipshit? Who do you think is going to deal with you? You could always move to Australia and ask some Aborigines to play with you, although they might not want to play what you like either.)

STOP responding, Chief Engineer Scott! You are NOT helping and you are making stupid observations! Why would I want to move to Australia? I mean, seriously? I'm looking for a KEYBOARD player right here in the Baton Rouge area who likes some of my favorite American Idols and some of my favorite pop stars from the 80s and 90s! Artists like Madonna, Richard Marx, Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and such. Do your research!

I currently use this place to create my own site.
works very well and it's free, i do have other interests other than music.
it lets you design and call it whatever you want.
with 1000's of templates to use, or create your own.
i'm sure there are more like this out there, but this is what i have been using the last 6 or so years.

http://www.forumotion.com/free-forum

Tried it! I have no way to easily advertize to my audience in Baton Rouge, and I don't want it to be easily found through sites like Google or Yahoo. Also there's the matter of making sure I'm reaching individuals who are not crazy, but who are able to come forth and introduce themselves, and who I can get along with.

And the last time I used that site to create a forum, members kept signing up without first messaging me so I can have a better idea of who I'm talking to, thus I ended up deleting everyone who signed up due to the fact that they wouldn't get back to me in a timely manner, because they were extremely shy or because they didn't have a passion for playing a wide mix of most of my favorite artists and most didn't have the skills and the knowledge I'm looking for in those musicians.

I'm sorry but creating a forum on forumotion or some other way was and still is a bad idea.

However, if there's an existing Baton Rouge forum where intermediate level musicians get together and talk, that's cool. It needs to be a stark contrast to Baton Rouge Rocks though. By that, I mean, the members need to be made up of guys in their 20s, and need to share a passion for playing pop and soft rock music.

Bingo! Two words: "Whack job"

That's why I put this guy on Ignore... However, He has managed to figure a work around by using a different screen name...Now I can see the complete nonsense all over again...

This guy is feeding off the attention...The fastest way to end this, is to not respond to him directly, at any time...

Don't listen to that guy. He is just angry with me and doesn't fully understand what I'm looking for.

I am a decent guy who is just a bit frustrated and trying to find some special guy music buddies who like playing covers of pop and soft rock songs, which is not a popular genre choice for most active musicians in Baton Rouge.

I'm sorry for all of the craziness.

Not the ones who play pop and soft rock music and are at the intermediate level and are not your active performers. In other words, someone who just happens to play music but is NOT currently part of the music community in my area.
