I don't care if you don't like it but I find it to be a beautiful style of music. Anywho, I wanna sing for a DM band. I can do clean vocals as well. I have nothing up as anything I would record with would make it sound terrible (think laptop mic).
To give you a hint at what my voice is like, imagine a mix of Phil Bozman and Mitch Lucker.
I have a ton and a half of ideas and consider myself to be a musical genius so to speak. Or more aptly, a stage genius. I have studied a lot of psychology and know how humans tick and now how to get them to enjoy the show even more than they would just listening to it.
Couple of side facts, I am an Army vet so I my writing is very much aimed at the behemoths of the world including our very own US government. I am very politically active and this plays a lot into my writing. As I said, I know how to make people really get into the music and the show and leave in a haze of awesome.
Hit me up dudes/ladies!!
Zach.

The thing about highly trained sales people, is that they really excel at their vocation 'because' they have nothing to sell.

If you want to get a gig as a singer - get some equipment. Buy a good mic, get a PA system. Find someone who can record your samples.

Yeah, well at 21 I wasn't going around posing an bragging about sh*t that I couldn't back up...
Apparently Mr Jimmy Yo have some kind of problem with me... Step up and lets talk about it...

The YOU was not directly for YOU but if the shoe fits...
The only thing that resembled posing or bragging in his post was that he stated he was a stage genius, whatever that means. He sounds confident, nothing wrong with that in fact it's required. Your response was way over the top and did not sound like advice. Just because you might have some music recorded and posted does not necessarily make you better than anyone else.

At 21 I was much more interested in partying than improving my musical abilities. At 24 I was busking for quarters to buy my next beer or generic mac & cheese for dinner, but I wasn't bragging about it.
This guy, at 21, thinks he knows it all already. Good luck to him!

Now, Jimmy, you know perfectly well, that I affixed a smiley face at the end of my over the top statement...

And the fact that I have "anything at all posted" on my profile, definitely trumps "nothing at all " on his profile. I dont claim to be any better than anyone else...but if the shoe fits... Now, see the smiley face----->

Actually So was I @ 22 !

It was in Austin, on the drag... I had learnt three chords on a beat up guitar and me an a partner did it for a month to make the rent... Shortly after, I found a real job...Got hired at the restaurant I had been stealing food from ... LOL That was a blast, Every morning, their back door was open and they made up these trays of Sausage Biscuits.
They'd leave the trays out to cool...I'd pop in the back, snatch a few, and take off to the Drag from there. When I got hired there later, I remember in the interview (BY a very lovely italian couple) they asked my why I wanted to work for them... I told them... "Cause I really love the food here.." Ha ha! I Got Hired! and held that job for 2 years...
They were pretty cool about it

Well, it is a pretty gay picture for a death metal singer!

(
not that there's anything wrong with that!)

Don't worry about recording from your laptop. The default setup is awful but useful. It's easily upgraded.
I just got an M-Audio external sound card (120.00) and some very decent speakers (40.00). (very nice bass and a million times better than my other speakers)
My music sounded dreadful before I added the speakers and the sound card. Now I'm recording every night and chasing my own errors, not the equipments's. IT's been a life saver and time saver for me.
Disclaimer: Recording was helpful before I upgraded too - sounded bad but I could catch all my timing issues which is half the battle. Plus I had a small advantage since I already owned a decent Shure mic - admittedly not a recording mic but still way better than the readio shack piece of crap I'd been using. The mic didn't work with the default gear (for me at least) but shines with the external M-Audio.
I suggest playing backing tracks and sing along with them. You can download Audacity for free and record multiple tracks - thus harmony with yourself.
Very important to get music up. If you really are good, and I see no reason not to think so; it will help a lot to post a couple examples. Singers are more in demand than any platoon of guitarists or squad of bass players and drummers.
Can't say this will be true for you but it has been for me - the recording cycle has drilled down right into the 'soft' spots in my songs and my playing. I was horrified by some of what I heard. So get any issues sorted out as a priority,
Check out the threads on how hard it is to find players for lots of good advice on how to do exactly that. (at least five threads I can think of)
Try what I call 'throw away recording,' as part of your practice sessions. It's a great discipline - even if you have shitty gear it's worth it to listen to your respone to meter, to tone and harmony etc.
I'm hoping to post new prodcut within two weeks since putting together this little bare bones invirohnment. (and figuring out how to use it)
Good luck
Talbot
ps - Get all the gear you can and get used to singing through a mic - if you haven't already.

sh*t, I was unaware that a picture of myself and my cousin sitting on a raft on a beautiful lake is "gay." Are you guys really that "manly" to generalize a picture based on the surroundings? Maybe I should post one of my gore pictures to sate your appetites and fit the mold of every other conceited cunt who thinks he is a professional badass. Also, since when do death metal vocalists have to be f**k hard asses all the time? Also news to me.
Stop being dickheads to each other. Think before you type bros. If you wanna have a dick waving contest do it in pms. I can take a little criticism so flame away.
