The very same was also said when Rock N Roll was coming out. People just can't seem to openly accept all forms of music without some biased =). Yes I growl but I do think all talents have a time and place.
DT,
I accept it I just don't like too much of it. I've yet to hear a screamer or whatever you call the style that I could stomach for more than a few songs. That's just my opinion. I'm not even calling it flavor of the day. But I have heard enough of it to have an opinion of it. I have 3 sons and 2 of them at one time or another were into SCREAMO music!
I'm sure there are some really talented people who do it, but it almost always lacks melody. And it always sounds angry.
Xhadow has some talent it would be a waste to me if he got caught up in one style because the singer/ screamer couldn't do much more than SCREAM.
It's not singing to me. Like rapping is not singing.
But then again you may be right I'm old... what the hell would I know about today's music?

The growling detracts from it for me. Many folks like it. I play guitar the sort of rock / metal way so i think about this a lot when considering direction for my own music.
Oddly enough, I make exceptions for Children of Bodom and Arch Enemy - somehow what they do works for me.
Nightwish used to use a growler periodically but for specific roles such as the Devil, Pharoah, et al. It's effective. When the devil growls, "My wickedness shall be your passion!" it is downright chilling.
But to sing that way for everything seems inappropriate to me.

....Hyper Force ... an apt description. I found all of your posted work to be very impressive. I just wished to complement you. Of course this will no doubt bring out the "chatter" of some Forum Hags so I apologize in advance for that. You are very talented and are to be encouraged. Ta

Yes ... one
could growl about anything.
But what the hell would be the point?
Seriously ... I cant stand more than five seconds of
roar roar music.
That said I can generally tolerate less of some whinny ass coountreee music ether.
So to each his own.
If we were all the same ... what fun would that be?

So many try to be the same. Regardless if its one form of music or another. Or a certain way someone dresses to another. Conceptualism of a individualist in todays world has almost become a moot point. It is not to say all have lost this capacity. Only that a few still are. And the same point can thus be made when rock was new. And rockers would sing rock-ified tunes of older musics. Those parents and grandparents and anyone older would have also said the same thing "whats the point?" .. they also called rock "devil music". You proved my point in the aforementioned texts very well. And in par with your final statement I concur. As I had said in my own way "..I appreciate people for being just who they are at the end of the day, themselves.." In the end I do not debate online as that is also a moot point. Consider this my final statement on the matter. And to have wonderful night. One may further the logic herein or leave it as it is. In the end it truly doesn't matter save for the persons perspective.

Hey Bro, I dig your tunes. You have a lot of raw talent. Keep playing and working!
As for the sidebar, even Christina Aguilera growls lol. It's all based on preference. Sometimes we have to agree to disagree on things we like or dislike.

Very nice work, I really like it. One thing, I am not too fond of your intros, but once the guitar kicks in its all good.
