I am extremely happy to announce... that I found a bassist...

He was right there, under my nose all along...

It started with my search for a budget studio...which I successfully found. For 6 months after, I have combed around, asking , seeking , inquiring if there was a bass player around, who could work (as in willing to work with) my music, and do more than just 'thump' on the songs..

There were many who stepped up, who could thump and pop, but lacked the degree of musicianship I was seeking and looking for my songs...

So there I am laying down click-tracks a couple of weeks ago and the engineer (George) says... Hey Bro, listen to this little track I added last night...
Well he played it along side my song...and my Jaw dropped to the floor...
Turns out, ol George has been playing bass for about 35 years (And the drums longer).

He casually mentioned it 6 months ago , (but, apparently the last Q-tip I used, had punched through to the other side...). This fact about George never even registered and not another word was said...LOL

Well, George would have kept his mouth shut forever, but he told me that he really liked my material, and felt inspired enough create a bass line on one of my songs... Well... after hearing it, I was duly impressed...

We agreed that he was gonna do all the bass lines, and most of the drumming, as a member of the BluePoetSouls... He agreed to a substantial discount on the recording costs, and I gladly agreed to pay up front for a 10 song package, which will also include the mastering.

Talk about a Win/Win
...I have been blessed!!

Indeed I am excited... Fully Mastered CD, expected to be complete by mid year 2012. The duration has much to do with accruing the right support for certain songs... Plus all the challenges I have not experienced...such as pin pointing the song seemed like a good idea at the time, but falls flat, no matter what we do... thing... Lots of creative decisions, re -takes, etc. I can really see where my days could be 15 hour days.. and I gladly embrace it... But that damn Day job of mine really cuts into my sleep ;)

I told you a while back your songs were good. I knew there had to be a bass player there somewhere who could work with you. I know I could come up with a bass-line to your tunes that would make you wear Depends. Funny the guy was right under your nose the whole time. One time years ago we were lookiing for a drummer and I mentioned it to a truck driver. He knew the former drummer for Shooting Star. Best drummer I ever played with, a powerhouse. And if I never opened my mouth we would never have hooked up. You never know.

An' though the course may change sometimes
Rivers always reach the sea

Glad to hear you're making some progress.
IMO I can hear a very smooth yet talkative bass in some of your tunes.
