It's tough being promoter, roadie, truck driver, security, guitar player, sound man, ETC
Ended up having to back off a little on the gain to the vocalist.
Also had to add a touch of my guitar to the stage monitor mix.
Not used to that at all.
Plus I guess I'm going to have to add a noise gate or low pass filter to keep the wind from rumbling in the mics.
The 36 inch tall tables I built for the mains worked great to throw the sound up on top of that hill. Put the stage monitors on them too so the fire crew doing the fire works could hear the music and announcements there behind us.

The place is beautiful. Even with the lake being over six foot low due to the drought.
Was pleasant s a Texas summer can be though when the shade finally held sway. That first set was HOT and I'd already been there two hours humping gear.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I hope they invite us back for a third year.

That's a long drive from Kilgore. Which one are you in the video?

We were just outside of Candler Tx. Not all that far from Tyler where I work in the hospital.
It would probably take me in the neighborhood of 90 minutes to trailer my gear to location from my place in Kilgore where we practice.

It just comes natural.

Unlike Miles, I knew you didn't mean it...just playin' with you.

It's funny.
I have different postures, as well as different areas of the stage that I utilize depending on the song and environment.
Not only do I use three "channels" with my guitar, and depending on the song I may have to tap dance some for the tone changes.
But I have also been training to play while I operate the foot switches for the fog machines as well as the stage light effects.

We are putting together a pretty comprehensive stage show.
Can't wait for the appropriate environment to spring it on our unsuspecting victims, er ... I mean ... fans.

It's one of those mini cameras ( I forget the brand name ) Ray and his web partner Luke ( BLAME LUKE TV ) use these and other gadgets to film all kinds of funny satire for Youtube.

Very nice. You guys sound great. One question...does your drummer play to a 'click'? It does not appear that he does. I guess the fact that I'm still somewhat new to this, keeping perfect time/tempo though-out the song is where I'm lazer focussed right now. I have total respect for bands that sound tight, like ya'll do.

Steve-O will get a kick out of that, being self taught and all.

No ... no click ... not even in studio.

Actually, in studio and especially live, our tempo varies quite a bit by intent.
We consider ourselves to be a " raw rock band ". And as such we allow our songs to surge and drag ( for lack of better terminology ) as part of the dynamic flavor of the way we play.
( of course the intent is to surge or drag together )
We get some funny looks from some of the more polished players we've been around.
Others are like HELL YEAH MAN, GET IT ON !!
