why not have bandmix sponsored gigs,be it clubs, parks, etc.someone can find a willing place in their area and post it for that area to get members to come down to play or support the bands.we can meet each other and net work.hey even a swapmeet,a music swapmeet with bands playing in fact we can do this ourselves,we sure as hell have the contacts.this could be huge!here`s the kernel now let`s see if we can make this idea pop!

I've brought this up a few times before in the past. There's always a few who talk about it being a great idea. But you know the story: Not enough action, but plenty of talk.

Problem is logistics.
The logistics issue for an National / Multinational web site to put members together would be daunting.

Ideas ?

I'm listening.

another way to get started is to show up to fellow members gigs that are local to you.it`s not like we`re complete strangers,i`m gonna give it a try.

Interesting ... Whom is closest to you and by what distance ??

I drove about 60 miles to catch NEANDERPAUL in Nacogdoches.
He was doing his LOOPTY LOOP TOUR.
Screwed around and missed him in Shreveport La.
Would have been a little closer ...

I'd do it again too!

A " MEET ME AT" thread should be a sticky .

If I could ever work up enough of a draw somewhere to get some regional things going, I would be sure to tell everyone when/where I was going. I'm sure I would meet a few.

In all honesty, if I really did have the funds I would love to throw some sort of festival. But man, that takes a lot of know-how and hired hands. But it sure would be a cool experience.

I think the main reason most people wouldn't take the plunge in any sort of gathering is because they know they would most likely get screwed financially. This recession has made money more valuable than it is...cause unfortunately, everybody needs it more than they ever have(most of them).

8) This kind of endeavor would definitely be worth the effort. What bugs me is that it is hard to keep non-rockers on this site. I say this because it would be nice to make this a rock/jazz ( YES JAZZ!!! )/classical/celtic/ folk
collaboration. Everyone can perform something in the genre they are comfortable with then also perform as a guest in other groups that may be out of the comfort zone.

Something I can tell you right now...if we want it, it will come. Perhaps not today or tomorrow but all we have to do is want it.

Crip - I'll help but only if I can keep what I pick up! 8)

If this were to happen in the Atlanta area or nearby I'd have to pack up my tools and ease on over. What interesting jams we could have.

distance is daunting - Greater Atlanta is now like LA - you have to work hard and drive a lot to get anywhere.

There's gotta be a way...somehow somewhere. We have to continue discussing this, something will come up.
