I often here talk of being FREE on here. Anyway.

All going well frankly. This is my holdup with releasing stuff because when I switch I want to know everything works before pulling the plug on windows.

Having just build and compiled my first installation I am now at the point that I can build and save the app and all of its dependencies so that others can use it too providing they are of course using a linux installation. It might be some time yet of course but you have to admire the people who work and play with these things to provide them completely FREE of charge so that others can make music FREELY too.

Something exciting things on the horizon and if it has time?

(A) A friend is trying to create a one click recording system for people who are used to windows. Basically you'll choose a style and the template system will make all the necessary connections for you, thus saving you a lot of time.

(B) The use of Vst's is now available on Linux. A little tool called 'Festige' connects your windows vst's to apps like Ardour making it possible to use your favorite midi software.

Ardour which is billed as a direct contender to Sonar (And just as difficult to understand) Is being released shortly as a final in version 3.0

There you go a fully fledged music post with not a hint of end of the world in it and totally 100% positive.
Beat that today if you can?

:D
