I just posted some new vocal demos at http://www.bandmix.com/reddy2rock/

Some evaluation would be great. I'd like to use these to get my foot in the door to audition for some good local bands. Are they good enough for that? I know there are still a few recording quality issues but considering these are home-made, hopefully people will look past that (?) The vocals are a little loud in the mix intentionally, but if they're too loud in spots please let me know. Mainly I'd like to know, do I come across as a strong enough singer with good pitch, tone, timing, and decent dynamics. (I know dynamics is an area I still need to work on, but maybe this isn't as big an issue for a rock band (as opposed to an acoustic act). If not, what do I need to fix? I would rather not re-do these completely if there are just a few spots here and there that need improvement. Thank you very much in advance, for listening and critiquing.

You're not spot on either with your timing or your pitch. You need to back off the mic when you're singing loudly. Try using headphones, it may help with your issues.

I wouldn't use these to try to get into a band. There are too many problems with your singing to do that yet.

maybe for a punk band because of the way you accent the end of a lot of the words, other than that, I wouldn't reccommend you to anyone I know for a band, not trying to sound mean, but you really need some work! Good luck in the future :?

I think you've got potential, but I agree these recordings probably won't get you any gigs. Are these songs the right genre for your voice? Are these in the right keys for your voice? It's okay to change the key of any song to better suit your voice. I do it once in a while myself. Although I can sing in any key certain tunes and certain singers I have trouble doing a credible job of covering, so we experiment with different keys. Anyway, you need to think about some of these things before you proceed with your band searching. Good luck...
