Aren't there any musicians here that don't like playing rock music? All I ever get in my mailers is a bunch of crap about rock bands. Yecch! How about some jazz musicians? Or do they all look somewhere else?

Hey Doug! Give us a sample of your wares. That stuff can be pretty complicated, but it looks like a whole lot of fun to do, for sure.
Absolutely nothing wrong with some cool jazz...or good country...or good rock...or reggae...I think I just love music...

I'm not sure who's full of crap. I browsed the musicians on Bandmix from Aurora, Colorado. FIFTEEN of them list jazz as at least one of the styles of music they play. Some of them list jazz as the ONLY style of music they play. Have you bothered to try and contact any of them? Like I say, not sure who's full of crap...

Dougmeister, another thing that would help you find some jazz people (besides YOU looking for them) is to put some of YOUR music on your Bandmix profile page. It'll make it more attractive for the right people to contact YOU.

I actually enjoy listening to jazz, especially in the hot tub. I saw Return to Forever last year, awesome. I would try to find players at your local college.

I didn't realize there were so many different types of jazz. I guess it must be really difficult to find people who only play one of these derivatives. You should give examples of famous artists for each one of these. I'm intrigued by Asian American jazz. Is that different from Native American jazz, or Italian American jazz, or Eskimo jazz? Is free jazz better or worse than cheap jazz and is cheap jazz better or worse than expensive jazz? Is Progressive jazz better than Reactionary Jazz? Is Straight-Ahead jazz cooler than Askew jazz? I myself prefer Suburban and Rural jazz over Urban jazz. Certainly West Coast jazz is superior to Continental Divide jazz...

that list of jazz sub-genres makes me realize what went wrong with metal.

I play some jazz
I do a Hammond driven 4 pc (Jimmy Smith style)
I play fusion jazz and acid jazz
I do piano duo with a female singer (Etta James .. Ella F)
It's just a hard sell and few club to play it in, so I don't get to play it much.
