A few random thoughts from the RNAH.

( + ) I like your voice. I like the dynamics with which you sang this song.
Well produced. Posative lyrical content is always a + in my book.

( - ) Many of the Bandmixaleros do short visits here due to busy schedules of music the dreaded day jobs and family obligations.
Convert to MP3 please so I dont have to wait for a download to hear your beautifull voice.

Some thing just unsetteling about a lovely female voice singing about another female. Yea I know Val could be a guy, thats just not the impression I got from the song.
Yes, I am politically incorrect and thats just my take on it.

So Miggie, here's my take, and my apologies in advance, I'm a bit direct and don't bs...

The recording is nice, sounds clean and crisp. Your vocals are good. I didn't hear anything off pitch or "undesirable". I actually liked the way you inserted that broken-note style throughout the song. It was very tactful and smart.

But here's the thing. I can't find a bad thing to say about the song on any technical level, but yet, it's missing something, yes indeed.

We call it the "IT factor". We all know what it is, and most of us in life will only write a handful of songs that capture it. Your song just doesn't. It's close, but with "IT".. it either hits the mark or it doesn't, and your song doesn't.

Now.. that being said...

You are about as close as one gets. Focus more on hooks and keep the tactful writing and arrangement approaches. Hooks don't automatically = "IT", but it's a good measuring stick as any.

Hi Miggie,

I checked out an Amy Winehouse version on youtube 'cause I hadn't heard the song.

I think you have a better voice. The only thing that gets me is, I think you used a little too much of the broken phonetic style. It's something that should be done sparingly. My advice would be to smooth out some of the words where they're broken up. Not all, but a little less.

Other than that, it sounds awesome, you do have a great voice. Do you have a vocal coach?
