"Yod had a interesting method he described as hanging out in music
stores "

I would TRY that, but I need to talk to guys in Baton Rouge on this forum or on another site to learn about other music stores in my area, especially ones that help individuals find music buddies who share similar tastes in music rather than music stores that just focus on retail.

On top of that, you've got to consider what time I'm able to go to these music stores. The best time for me to get out is around mid-morning to the afternoon. And EVERYTIME I have gone to a music store in Baton Rouge, I'm stuck talking to people that work there, and thus am unable to show them what I can play because they can't leave their post.
I've never heard more excuses in my entire life!

Those are NOT excuses! I am being completely honest here! If I was the kind of person to make excuses, I wouldn't even bother posting, and I wouldn't be as thorough as I am in my posts. If you do NOT want to understand the situation, then move on with your life, and give somoene who is more understanding a chance to respond.
That is another thing I was accused of on Baton Rouge Rocks.

Sounds like excuses.

Get the phone book out I bet there
is at least 10 music stores in Baton Rouge.

If it's that hard to find musicians and you are serious
about your music? Move!!!!!

NO! I am NOT getting the phone book out just to look for music stores. That's just cognitive information. Cognitive information can only go so far and of course, you've got to be careful of false advertising. And most music stores that advertize in the phone book are usually just going to list the name of the store and their phone number, with maybe a brief description of what they sell.

I need to talk to people in Baton Rouge to learn about more appropriate music stores like those that help people get involved with other musicians in the area. The information I'm looking for cannot be easily found in the phone book.

NONE of the things I'm saying are excuses. The things I'm pointing out could seriously make my search much easier.

I am NOT forcing you to do anything. Please, back away from the computer before you post something that you are going to regret posting, like posting something acusatory.

If you do NOT want to understand my situation, then move on and give someone else a chance to respond. Do NOT post something stupid like showing me a picture of a small violin and expect me to get the irony or the joke.

What are you talking about? You think you know EVERYTHING. BEFORE I can get out, I need to talk with other guys in their 20s and early 30s so I can learn about other music stores that do more than just retail.

I need to talk to people who aren't so quick to say that I'm making excuses and take the time to understand the things I'm pointing out.

And of course, if I'm using the phone book, there's the proboem of recognizing which places are music stores. Some may not even be labeled as such.

And by the way, you don't know what cognitive knowledge is? That's simply having the ability to know things without experience, or without putting them into practice.

The information I need CANNOT be found through a phone book or even through Google.

I am NOT that serious about playing music. I'm looking for some guys who just happen to play pop and soft rock music as a hobby, but who are good at it, and who might later be interested in starting something official.

Keep in mind that right now, I ONLY play covers of pop and soft rock songs from the 80s to the present, and only have a small number of songs that are in finished form.

You will find here most are very serious about
there music.

I am

Since your not I'll leave you to Etu and the violin he
presented to you. Watch out he's liable to write a song
about you and turn you into a frog or a geek or something.

You want good players who play only for hobby.
The only way you get good is practice. So the better players
in your age group are probably more than "hobby" players,
and wouldn't want to spend time giving you lessons.

The only other way I know you could do it, would be to rob a bank
and hire the exact musicians you want. You pay cash and you can get anything you want.

Take a music class at a college.

Get on the bandmix forum and try to find other players. Oh yeah,
that's not working out.

Hangout with some skanky whores, that oughta at least attract
a couple guitar players. lol

I'm looking for keyboard players and I'm looking for GUYS!

"So the better players

Sir, that is a small-minded way of thinking. Just because somebody plays for fun doesn't mean he isn't a solid musician. And I am quite advanced and have had lessons to learn most of the music terms, so the things me and this other guy I'm looking for would be working on would be songs. Heck, back when I was on Baton Rouge Rocks and Craigslist, some of the people who responded who were professional musicians gave the impression that they didn't have a good handle on being able to read music and understand most of the necessary music terms.

"Take a music class at a college."

I tried that during 2007 and 2008, and it was a bust. It was a simple music appreciation class, but most of the other people who were taking the class weren't even all that smart in music and were simply taking the class thinking they could get an easy A.

I am NOT taking a class in jazz appreication or anything like that, since that's the WRONG genre. I'm trying to reach those guys who play pop and soft rock. You know, the kind of guys you see on American Idol.
