Hey JommyJr your song doesn't play on your site. :?
I would like to hear what you're doing I guess.
Are you a singer/guitarist/songwriter? Convert your song to an MP3 format then upload to your player.

Well I'm playing a Harmony, a bad one. I do agree that music isn't about how much money you spend on an instrument. At the same time though, using a guitar that goes out of tune after 10 minutes of playing is unacceptable. For those wondering I only play guitar. I like to think I'm okay at it. The riff I posted on the site isn't working so here's a link ...

It's not much I know, but a lot of people aren't posting anything!

Again I'm appreciating all the feedback. Not much luck so far but I'm confident.

Well... if I knew then what I know now I'd say F' being in a band... learn to write and play and perform on your own first. Then you will bring something to the table. You're young play every chance you get but practice practice practice. In a few years finding a band won't be an issue but you've got to do the work first.

And the last band I was in was easy... my brother was the drummer, my best friend the singer...I worked with the bassist and the other guitarist was a fan... just dumb luck.
Good luck to you.

Or you can do it my way. Just worm your way into a local band way before you're really ready - it's a bitch - but boy do you learn fast.

Playing with others is one of the best ways to learn and improve - but if you suck to start out with either the others will kick you out or they are no better. You can't learn much if no one has any ability.
Practice until your fingers bleed, then practice some more. I was talking to a guy at an open mic last year who told me he switched to a nylon-string guitar after he found playing a steel string guitar hurt his fingers. He sucked!

As far as the Harmony guitar - most are 'starter' instruments, but there are some decent one in the lot.

Lol XD I would never stop because my finger hurt/bleed. Music is everything to me. I was in a band once, but that was in high school and an arts school at that so it was a piece of cake to be in a band. I learned a lot from that but yeah, I need more experienced people to push me in the right direction.
