Kid Rock-Showman? Yes. Musician? No.
Bob Seger- Great voice and band, questionable lyrics.
Ted Nugent- Not my favorite rocker by any means but I love his attitude.
Eminem- Musical non-entity
Dave Matthews Band- Blah
Boston- EVERY song sounds exactly the same and most of their lyrics are
unintelligible to me.
Phil Collins- Never liked his voice or Genesis' music. Too technical with zero soul.
Bruce Springsteen- NEVER stops singing. I'd like to hear some of his bandmates get in a few solos once in a while.
Sammy Hagar- Always sounds like he's straining. Van Halen without David Lee Roth wasn't Van Halen.
Billy Squier- Didn't he write a song about jerking off? Appropriate...

I love how you just said "blah" to dave matthews hahaha, that basically is just ignorance. That man is a genius and tells a story in everything he writes. ANYBODY who says dave matthews is a bad musician needs to be slapped in the face and take a look at themselves. Maybe you dont like his voice or something, but you literally cant, not respect him as a musicians. He puts 100% into everything he does.

He has a song called "sister" and its the deepest and most meaningful song I've ever heard in my life. He talks about when he was a kid living in south africa, him and his sister used to get separated a lot and to comfort him his sister used to tell him that when they where born, god took his heart and put it into her chest, and took her heart and put it into his chest.
Later in life, his sister got married and her husband killed her then killed himself. s
Im the song he writes "Sister, I hear you laugh. My heart fills full of keep me please. Sister I hear you cry I can feel YOUR tears running down MY face."

He is so unique in every aspect of music for the sole purpose that he wasnt "taught" how to play music the traditional way. He learned in africa by making music a way of life.

Damn genius

He is a great musician, and lyricist, but his overall style is a snoozefest.

Guns & Bloses

Oh, & Paperfork? The thread revolves around personal opinions. I've heard a lot of Matthews' material, & I can honestly say that it induces a "blah" from me every time, as well. What you may think of as genius won't move a lot of other ppl. It certainly doesn't move me. I wouldn't call it "ignorance" at all.

When he first came out, he had a refreshing sound. Too bad he couldn't develop it further.

Much as I hate King Dickhead, I can't help but to love the music.

Oh god, yes. They'd be tolerable if their drummer knew more than one beat.

...& if their "singer" would sing instead of screech!

Eh, it's hard for me to narrow it down. I hated Nirvana...mumbling and screaming idiot. I hated Gun's N Roses...Ranting and screaming idiot.

My background (influences) are filled with bands that had a very polished, "professional" (sometimes corporate sound-a lot of the bands Jimmy mentioned-lol!) I tend to think of those bands as a "quality" product.

REO Speedwagon wrote songs that they thought a lot of people would like-they appealed to the lowest common denominator.
Limp Bizkit sh!t in a box and tried to sell it for $15...I know which one I would rather give my money to...but that is the beauty of Diversity. My opinion really only matters to me.

I'm, PWI, BTW...trying a new beer...Nosferatu from Great Lakes Brewery...VERY GOOD!

I don't know Joe, you can polish a turd but it's still a turd.

The fact that you don't get Nirvana is very telling.

Now I disagree on AC/DC. They are easily one of my favorite rock bands, especially with Bon Scott singing.

Kid Country Rap Rock

Sammy Faggar
ANY Modern Country

Jimmy, I'm not sure what that meant...sounded kinda like an insult, though...

It's true...I never did "get" Nirvana. Truth be told, I was doing music like theirs several years previous to their "break", and felt I had grown beyond it. Again, just my opinion. Their style was one that I simply didn't get into. there are a LOT of different art styles that I don't get into...but that's me.

I think the definition of "turd" is pretty biased, don't you? It's not as though you can look up "Turd" and see an REO SPeedwagon album cover...at least, I don't think so...

i think i hate everything that everybody has mentioned thus far in this thread. except Radiohead (somebody mentioned them) ...i love'em.

i'm really picky to a fault. i can't ride in cars with other people because i'll make fun of their selection of music, or, if they put on the radio i'll hold my ears the whole time (not really, but i'd like to.) since i was 14 i've operated by the assumption that the sh*t bubbles to the top, that's why it's on tv or the radio.
