If that health care bill passes you do understand it will become the biggest union in the world? And eventually all employees of healthcare will become goverment employess. Granting the goverment massive power. Get it?? Millions of people are compromised then. You will not be able to get rid of it when they are signing your check?

The only way to fix healthcare is get the lawyers and the goverment out of it. The goverment is what made it so expensive in the first place.
So yeah lets give them more power right? So they can fix it! The same politicians who know so much more than you.

Typical power grab. The goverment creates a problem then we beg them to fix it. At 24 years old and being taxed into oblivion. Paying into programs that I will never reap the benefits from sickens me. I dont want the scraps from the progressives table.

Not to say im satisfied with the republicans. Exporting our jobs and killing virtually all industry in the united states in the name of the dollar. The united states cannot compete with slave labour. And Democrats delivering their "OMG IF WE DONT PASS THIS WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE"

Reduce malpractice to gross negligence.
Form a program to train competant doctors in less time.
Flood the market with doctors.
Get rid of having to get a prescription for basic drugs.
Pass restrictions on insurance companys who exploit Medicaid-Medicare..

But if they did those things it would strip them of their power.
You speak with such a sense of urgency that its alarming. America has the lowest infant mortality rate in the world. If you are disabled there are programs for that. If your a single mom/dad theres programs for that. I know a homeless man who has better insurance than me.

I am not interested in socialism. I believe in capitalism. I believe if you excel at something, you should be compensated for that gift. Being a doctor is HARD - it's a long process, stressful, and incredibly difficult. It's also one of the most valued professions in the world - doctors should be compensated for their rare talent.


My post was only an attempt to explain to Chippy how our system of REPRESENTATION works. I don't think people often think about it that way, because we're so used to thinking about politicians as "other" people - almost mythical, like they come from another planet (and agreed, some of them act like that).

But the truth is, they started out at least just like you and me - ordinary citizens who we elect to serve us and our interests.



The problem with our form of government, from my perspective, is that we elect anyone and everyone. I've said this before and I'll say it again - government should be (at least partially) about SOLVING PROBLEMS. Who do you hire to solve problems? Me, I'd hire people who were good at SOLVING PROBLEMS.

But unfortunately, we don't elect those people. We elect businessman Bob, and farmer Bill, and Jedd the butcher. Average, everyday people run for office, and they have no exceptional problem solving skills at all, but we elect them.

Part of the problem is that our best problem solvers aren't running for office - they're working for big bucks at Google or Microsoft... and I can't blame them. The pay is better and the constituency doesn't attack you personally with lies, or invade your personal life and pass judgment against you in a TV commercial...

I mean, I'm a good problem solver myself. It's my skill - my gift - and I'd love to put it to better use. But man, I know what it's like to run for a public office and I have no desire to be put through that wringer...

It IS, after all, the quack's mistake, & NOT the patient's. A person's life should not be ruined by a Dr without that Dr &/or his insurace co. paying for that mistake. I realize that ppl have been getting far too much in court settlements, but when a person's life is drastically busticated by a Dr, he needs help from somewhere that should assure that his quality of life is kept close to the point that he's used to.

"Flood the market with doctors." Dunno if that's the answer. WV has a huge Dr deficit, but I don't like the idea of "flooding the market," cuz it opens it up to too many chances of getting quacks in the system.

I, for one, know EXACTLY what I need when I get a bad case of poison ivy, but I hafta spend for a Dr's office visit before I can get the necessary meds that work for me, which are a 6 day schedule of steroids. I know that when my back goes out, Valiums & Flexerils are the answer, but I end up having to get them "out of the system" cuz our societal fears of these drugs has gotten to the point that even Dr's are scared of prescribing them.

What I mean is if your leg gets gain green and they cut off the wrong leg. Or for instance my step mother had breast cancer. They operated on her breast and left permanent scarring. There was no cancer, Her charts were mixed up with another patients. Now thats gross negligence. My step-mother did not sue however because it is against her own moral code. I dont want doctors being immune to law suits completely but malpractice is out of control. In the medical profession you learn a great deal about covering your ass.

Most emergency room visits do not require someone with 12 years of college. The majority is children with colds. Then train a hyrbid doctor who is equipped to deal with 40 to 50% of doctor visits only.

No plan is fail safe im just suggesting a few things. Im just a normal guy who works for a living. And though these plans seem crude at best they seem very sensible to reduce the cost of healthcare and give us some freedom back in the proccess.

Well, in the hospital setting, they DO have "Dr's in training" handling many emergency cases. It hasn't reduced any costs, though.

That is so sad when a 24 year old musician is starting to feel over taxed.

Gross abuse of the social payment system already in place is the biggest problem I observe on a daily basis.
Making more "untraceable funds" for them to steal is the worst idea ever.
The HISTORY AND PHYSICALS supposedly written by the physicians to gain access to medicare funding are rife with the terminology required to garner the highest reimbursement rate.
Often when reading these I have to ask myself, "Is this the same patient?"
Meanwhile the persons who are actually monitoring the patients health and progress (this include the MD as well and many are a frustrated about it as I)
Are required to do more with less, to increase the profits for the "business men".

Real scary also, YOU NEED REAL ,TALENTED NURSES, to make sure some doctor doesnt make a mistake.
Real scary also, No polit is going to pull me or my friends out, in the middle of the night.
