Depends upon the music. I'm no fan of the 1/4 tones, the 1/3 tones, etc.

However, when they stick to the western musical model, they do it very very well.

Gimme some examples of your faves, & I'll be better able to answer your question...

If they've done for music what they did to animation I'd have to say no.

Vow Wow covered 'Helter Skelter' in 89. I had that album. I thought they were pretty good frankly.
