Hey,

I think you have an awesome voice... I love you your tone, which is to me the most important thing. You can't teach someone good tone.

I would definitely suggest taking some vocal training to help you understand keys and intervals and also work your vocal range and strength, but I would love to hear more!

Also, I'm sure you do it already, but I would also suggest singing along to these tunes... it'll give you a better idea of how the key changes work. Plug one ear while you're singing so you can hear yourself.

Ok, that's all from me! Good luck & let me know when you get some new stuff recorded!

Just voice alone is difficult. Picking the right song to sing a capella is key for a recording like this.

I noticed that when you went up to the higher/stronger notes that is when you started singing off key. You can get better with practice.

When you are basically in the altoish (I am so not technically able to get these terms right LOL) portions you sound great! You can learn control. You do have the basic ability just needs work.

Nice overall vocal tone, I agree with the people bringing up issues of pitch - go swipe a karaoke track, sing to it, and add to your player, I'd be curious to hear how "on" you would be with backing to give you key.

One thing nobody mentioned - I don't hear anything overtly "unique" or "special" - that's not a dis, but it is what will separate someone from becoming a well-respected cover band/lounge singer or an artist with a following.

The great singers seem to approach a song like a short story or a short film, and the vocals like an acting performance. Even in subtle ways, how does the voice convey the overt or subtextual meaning of the song overall? If you sang in a made-up language, would people still understand the message? (Lisa Gerrard just makes up sounds & noises - good enough for "gladiator" and Dead can Dance though!) Part of that is choice of material, but the rest is "can you make me believe it?" There are a lot of singers who can hit the notes, but the notes gotta smack me in the heart (or groin or ass or intellect or gut) for me to get my wallet out or rave to my friends.

Lately I've been thinking that for many people, getting to that next level of creativity & expression may have as much to do with life experience and things you've been exposed to as it does practice.

Well, you're cute, and that always helps. :) I'm a girl, so don't take that the wrong way. Honestly?...

I've heard better, I've heard worse. I wouldn't kick you off the stage, but I wouldn't hire you for the talent agency, either. I might try you out as a backup singer until you got solid on the mic. Definitely some natural ability there, in my opinion.

Good luck to you. :)
