The Evergreen Carolers (www.evergreencarolers.com) are now accepting bookings for the 2014 holiday season.

We need to expand the troupe! Our core quartet of music professionals has difficulty covering the Christmas holiday season due to schedule conflicts. We'd like to recruit alternates in each voice part to learn our show (for memory) and then rotate job assignments as we procure new gigs.

This is a job for trained and talented vocalists. It requires excellent pitch, an ability to memorize a show of over 40 songs, good showmanship and a professional attitude.

Singers who have not been professionally trained will only be considered if you can demonstrate substantial performance experience, you are able to read music and to memorize vocal parts accurately note by note, and you have excellent pitch and an attractive vocal quality for your voice part (soprano, alto, tenor or baritone/bass).

The project will provide manuscripts and rehearsal tracks for you to study. Following an introductory rehearsal, you will be expected to learn the music on your own. We will hold a limited number of non-paying rehearsals for the purpose of aligning the vocal parts and making sure everyone understands the meters and queues, but the songs will be learned and performed exactly as on the rehearsal tracks, so busy musicians will not have to add many rehearsals to their schedule. During early rehearsals you can be reading your manuscripts, but you must have the show memorized by the final rehearsals in order to qualify for paid work.

No costumes are provided for this show. You will be asked to dress in either Christmas Casual or formal (tuxes for the men).

The professionalism of all participants is a key factor in our ability to solicit paying jobs. This business is built on reputation. We cannot guarantee the amount of money you will earn this season, and payment per gig will depend in part on the length of each performance. But you should realize some extra spending money for your holiday season, you will enjoy working with equally talented professionals, and your first-season investment is expected to net much more profitable results with little effort in following seasons.

You can contact ValiantAdam at Bandmix.com or use the carolers' web site contact information to apply. Please outline your qualifications and explain any scheduling conflicts you would expect between the day after Thanksgiving and December 30 (sometimes people hire Christmas carolers after Christmas).

Thanks for your interest in a cappella music!
