Hey Jenny,I'm a singer sound man,If you need more help, mail me,I'll help First put both main and Ch Slider on 0 and bring gain up to good hearing level,EQ is a must. pull down the eq sliders till you find the feedback,Mic pointed at a speaker makes feedback, any hi's from guitars cause feedback also.

Yamaha EMX 512SC Powered Mixer
2 Yamaha BR12M Speakers

But if I turn the vocals over 3 1/2 on the channel it produces feedback, and the FCL (Feedback channel locating) light for that channel is ALWAYS on even with just background noise, and at really low levels.

I have a EV N/D 767a Mic plugged into the first channel, with the proper cords as far as I know.

I have no idea what is wrong with the set-up. Any suggestions?

You could start by turning everyone down. Turn it all down. Start from the ground up. If the guitars and drums are washing your vocals then everything is definitely too loud for practice.

Uhh, welcome to the forum, you might want to read through a whole thread before replying - this one is 4 years old, got revived by a spambot earlier this year.
