I have two Gibson Les Paul refernce monitors (4in) for sale. They are the beautiful Tobacco Burst maple. I hate to let them go, but I just dont have a use for them anymore. They are worth $600 each, looking to sell for $800 for both. Message me if interrested!!!

Curse be upon any musician who would pay those prices for aesthetics over performance on a piece of musical gear such as monitors speakers. :x

Hey look! I agree with Schmed! 4" speakers for that kind of money is ludicrous. You can get one FINE set of reference monitors for that kind of money.

don't get me wrong..i'd NEVER swap that Starfire for ANYTHING...but a few yrs back i did baby sit an early '70's wine red LP Deluxe for a cpl of wks....i played a few jazz gigs with it.

very nice axe. the neck pickup...tone rolled off? nice warm jazz tone w just the right amt of "cut". it was a very sweet player that i really dug, but took a pass on making it mine. it wasn't too heavy either. definitely lighter than that boat anchor 17" '54 Guild X150 of mine....That is one HEAVY gtr.

here's a pic of the '66 Starfire II in action from Sunday's gig.

94 degrees (heat index 103) at 7:00 playing under a gazebo for a few hunnert folks braving the weather in lawn chairs.

i had briefly considered changing strings before the gig...then came to my senses!

If I'm not mistaken, the Deluxes were made of maple.
